Why does the pressure switch on my Mr Heater Big Maxx heater. It is only three years old, and we have had to replace the switch six times. Sometimes it works for two months, and sometimes for only two weeks. We have had service technicians look at it, and can find nothing wrong. The chimney is clear, and everything else appears to be fine. We have complained to the retailer where we purchased it starting in the first year of use, but that has not been of any help. We are very disgusted with this unit.

Mr. heater big maxx keeps blowing fuses, Replaced everything in it and still does it. sometimes it will run for a while

Maybe its the wire or the outlet. Does the wire get hot? Try a different outlet that is on a larger amp breaker.

I have a Big Maxx heater and it won't stop blowing and won't heat. The fan just keeps running! Anyone know what could be wrong?

Your pressure switch may not be activating (ie closing and making contacts) This means you could have a blocked flue, clogged pressure switch tube or a bad pressure switch. The pressure switch is a safety feature to ensure your exhaust is not blocked and operating correctly. Find owners manual. Look at trouble shooting section. Open cabinet and look for error code light. If blinking 3 times, try "jumping" the pressure switch. To jump pressure switch you need to clear code be turning off power. When the unit/thermostat calls for heat the power vent fan starts first, this is when you need to jump the pressure switch. You need to do this in sequence. That is the unit first starts the power vent exhaust thus activating the pressure switch allowing the ignition cycle to the burners and heat. So the power vent fan needs to start first BEFORE you put the jumper on to bypass the pressure switch. Once the jumper is on it will call for ignition after approx 30 seconds. If ignites your problem is one of the 3 stated at the opening of this paragraph

I have a Big Maxx heater that about 4 months old,and it started to act up, when I checked the circuit board I have three flashes. I removed and checked the pressure switch and that checks out fine, I get...

You may very well be right because if the induced draft motor won't come on then the heatin cycle stops there. It makes me wonder about the board because of it doing the same thing even if it's not calling for heat. Thanks.

I have a mr. heater big maxx. It is a 75000 btu natural gas. The preasure switch failed closed/open. How do I reset it? Or do I have to replace it?

the vent pressure switch will have a rubber type hose off it to the combustion fan housing. pull the hose off and poke the conector with a paper cilp or wire to make sure it is not plugged at the housing. make sure the vent fan is running and jumper the switch if it comes on replace the switch if not look else where for your problem.a volt meter is a great tool . voltage across a switch means it is open and no voltage means its colsed. i should say to also check your venting as it maybe blocked. there is no reset

How big of a breaker do i need to install for a 45000ng mr heater big maxx?

It looks like a 15 amp breaker would be fine, here is the spec sheet
http://shopfnc.com/pdffiles/mhu45spec.pdf

As you can see the unit only pulls 3 amps.

Hope this helps

Heater Burner ignites but main blower motor will not turn on.

it sound like the blower motor may be seizing up. try spining the blade by hand to see if it feels free or not. the motor could be trying to turn but can then tripping itself out on overload. (most motors have built in safety overloads which will trip during an overcurrant event. aka too many amps.) you may have to replace blower motor
