I can not get the toilet seat onto the Cadet 3 that I have installed. How does one install the rubber washer into the hinge?

When we initially tried to install the seat, the wrong parts had been put into the carton. Now that I have the "correct" parts, the seat does not tighten. In the installation section, it says to fit the rubber washer into the hinge. The place that it is to go onto is flat and so it does not have a place to install. If we try to put it on the hinge, everything does a free float and moves around. Help!

OPEN THE HINGE. PUSH THE WASHER ON THE BOLT ABOVE THE BOWL BELOW THE HINGE. HOLD THE BOLT DOWN AND TIGHTEN THE WINGNUT, WITH A SCREWDRIVER HOLDING THE BOLT. CLOSE THE COVER ON THE HINGE.

SOURCE: Replacing rubber seal on Kenmore Elite He3

Gowalia, it's going to be a fight without removing the front panel. This is the easiest and not that hard. Remove the top, by removing the 3 screws in the rear. The top will slide off toward the back. Next remove the control panel. Remove the 2 screws on each end on top. Remove the detergent drawer. Remove the torq screws behind the detergent drawer. The control panel will now snap off, pulling from the top and lifting up. Once freed, remove the control panel ribbon cable from the side of the main board. Now remove the screws holding the door switch mechanism in place. Remove the spring that holds the outer part of the boot from the front panel. Now remove the 4 quarter inch screws that hold the front panel and door on the front. Now you can install the new boot with ease. I know it sounds like a lot, but it is not that bad. Just reverse the process when the boot is on the tub. Make sure to have the mark on the boot ^ lined up with the mark on the tub on top. Catriver.

SOURCE: Just moved. New washer leaks water and appears tub is off center

CHECK THE BALANCE SPRING LOCATED (INSIDE LEFT REAR OF MACHINE). IF SPRING IS OFF IT CAN CAUSE THE TUB TO TILT TOWARD THE FRONT AND THE TUB FILL HOOD WILL NOT BE OVER THE TUB DURING FILLING OR THE TUB WILL BE ERATIC DURING THE SPIN WHEN RINSE WATER IS SPAYING IN CAUSE ING THE WATER TO MISS THE TUB AND SPRAY OUTSIDE. THIS IS COMMON IF THE UNIT HAS BEEN MOVED OR PLACED ON IT'S SIDE OR CARRIED AT EXTREME ANGLE.

SOURCE: WF448AAP Drain hose short, door swings to left, washer on right?

plumbing in the wall is usually placed according to where your unit is going to be placed,..not the case here as i/you can see,..you should be able to get a piece of hose (from private appliance store) and an "insert coupling" (has little "barbs" on it so it stays put after you clamp it) and make your extension,...don't make it to long or to tight, you don't want tension on the hose,....baby sit this "custom repair" to insure it dosn't leak, ya know, watch a couple loads go thru it's cycle,......if you can't get this happening, you can have the drain in the wall moved,....not a big job if your drain is plastic. good luck.

Relace flush valve seal

The American Standard Cadet 3 flowise one piece toilet uses a flapper valve with a soft nylon washer to seal against the water outlet.
Over time this nylon washer develops 'puckers' causing water to seep between the nylon washer and the seat of the flapper. This seepage causes the water level in the tank to drop to a point where the water inlet valve opens to replace the lost water in the tank.
There are two ways to correct this problem:
1. Replace the soft nylon washer on the flapper, or
2. Replace the entire flapper valve.
Hope this solution helps.

Toilet tank to bowl small leak

You need to replace the tank to bowl nuts, washers, and gaskets as well as the flush valve gasket. One word of caution. When installing the new bolts to hold the tank in, place a rubber gasket under the washer inside the tank, and also one on each bolt under the washer underneath the tank. If you omit the one under the tank you may end up cracking the tank when you tighten it down.

Leaky Seal

By leaking do you mean onto the bathroom floor, or is water escaping out the flush valve (the part that the Hydroright is seated in) into the toilet bowl. If the former 1) check toilet tank mounting bolts/gaskets for deterioration or looseness. These are usually 5/16"x3" brass bolts with rubber, plastic, and metal washers with a nut. They can be seen protruding through bottom of tank. 2) check flush valve and rubber gasket between tank and bowl. The flush valve is the one that the refill tube goes into and the hydroright seats into.
If you are only leaking water into bowl I would suggest the blue dome gasket ( part of Hydroright kit) is not properly seated properly into flushvalve, and you may have to re-install hydroright (the instructions explain how to remove and re-install) . I broke my existing/old flush valve at the base when trying to install my Hydroright so maybe it was fortuitous that it broke and I had to install a new one. Hope this helps.

My cadet toilet does not fill. I have to open the tank and push the valve to get it to fill. Do I need to replace a part ?

I would suggest trying to clean the flapper seat and also the pins that the flapper hinges on. If the flapper looks closed you can try putting a bit of petrolium jelly on the flapper seat and see if that fixes the problem. If nit you should replace the flapper.

I love my Cadet toilet. It looks perfect in my bathroom, but the flush isn't as powerful as I thought it would be. Can someone help me?

The flapper is secured with a rubber band. The rubber band must be removed from the flapper for the toilet to function properly. Please check the flush valve prior to installation and if the rubber band is present, simply cut it and remove it.

Installed cadet 3 and every twenty minutes it will run for about three seconds and i know it isn't supposed to do that

EITHER THE FLAPPER IS NOT PROPERLY ADJUSTED OR YOU WILL NEED A NEW FLAPPER. WATER IS SLOWLY LEAKING BETWEEN FLAPPER AND SEAT. AS WATER LEVEL DROPS ,TOILET WILL RUN TO BRING WATER LEVEL BACK TO PROPER HEIGHT.

How to tighten the hinges on a slow close toilet seat?

You don't want to overtighten since you could crack the porcelain. Are your rubber washers in good shape? This will help. You should be able to do this w/out doing any damage.

American standard cadet 3 leaking around seal

get a new filler assembly. the water in the tank is heavy enough to close the seal completely. or the rubber seal is not making contact. thats' why the leak.
change the whole assemble ususally correct the problem.
adjuste the flow to about 1/4 to 1/3 under the over flow. if that still don't give you the pressure. you ca adjust the flow tube to 1/5 under the cover. that is the max.
