Question about Washing Machines
High level water so that flood but valve do not stop.
The pressure activated switch is turned on to control a shutoff valve when the pressure in the clear tube reaches a certain level. If the tube is blocked, it will not get the light pressure on the air trapped by the column of water. Boyle s law P1V1=P2V2,
so replace (or clean out) tube with the same ID tube or the volume inside will not be correct for the rising column of water to activate the pressure switch.

SOURCE: no water level control
Often, what may seem to be major problems, can be something very minor in nature. It sounds like you have two issues with your washer.
First, the overflowing problem:
The water level is controlled by the pressure switch which is located behind the load level selector knob on the control panel. Before assuming you have a defective pressure switch, read the following link:
In many cases the small air hose comes loose from the pressure switch and causes the symptoms you are experiencing. Check the air hose to ensure it is still attached to the pressure switch and check the electrical connections to ensure they are not corroded. If these preliminary measures do not work, replace the pressure switch. If the pressure switch requires replacement, you can search for the best price at these web sites:
The second problem is the agitator:
If the upper portion of the agitator (called the "Auger") is not spinning as it should, you may need to simply replace the agitator dogs. The following link explains how:
The part number is included in the link I provided. The agitator dogs can be purchased at appliancepartspros.com for about $5.
If you have any questions, pease post back with your model number (located around the washer tub opening under the lid) so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance. I hope this helps you.

Pressure switch - it measures the weight of the water (in bars) and tells the valve to close.
