When it can't find a card it might report this as an error. Try putting a card in.

SOURCE: Card Locked ! Error

Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.

SOURCE: camera says my memory is full

It can only take a 2gb memory card. anything higher than that it won't be able to use. The reason it's saying the memory is full is because it's still using the built in 15mb (something like that)

I got cannon power shot sx130 is it reads memory card error the memory card is not locked but the eject button is not working how to fix this problem. thanks

Try to switch off the Camera and restart it gain. Again, Sometimes, its due to some auto-run software running in the card which prevents that from ejection. You can try to even format the card in the camera itself. That may work also.

As a last resort, check up your camera and get that memory card removed out of your Camera.

My camera read "card Error" when i put one in

Probably the first thing to try is formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format or gives an error when you try, then there may be an issue with the connectors in the card slot or the card may be incompatible.

Maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards. It is often difficult to find out the maximum capacity a camera will use, as today's memory cards are much larger that those available when the manual for the camera was written.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Hello and welcome to fixya

Since your camera is more than 6 years old the problem is probably related to SD/SDHC compatibility. You cannot use a card larger than 2GB in your camera.

In 2008 the SDHC format was introduced but even though it fits the SD slot perfectly , the camera's manufactured before 2008 does not have the capability to use the card and reads card error or other messages.

This is 9/10 times the problem you will have. If you have a card smaller than 2Gb with witch you are having the problem , please read the following tip a friend of mine wrote on the subject as it covers all the possible alternative problems you can encounter.

Kind Regards

Error message Built in memory full. Also won't read memory card.

You need to format the internal memory with no card in the camera. Then, you need to format the memory card in the camera.

I bought a new memory card and when i insert it I get the message: memory card error. how do i correct this? thanks

Some cameras will not support the later versions of the SD v2.0 released after June 2006 (secure digital mutilmedia card) memory cards that are on the market/

First check the size of the card in (MegaBytes) some older cameras will not even read a SD v1.x 2MB card but will read the smaller 1MB size.

Check for compatibilty with SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity, SD 2.0) on your camera even though it will fit as it has the same form factor (footprint) as the SD v1.x the camera is not set up to read it and will throw and error.

I suggest that after you have checked all this try and get your money back.

Is there a size limit for the memory card for the SD630. I put a 4 GB one in it, and it say memory card error

This camera only supports up to 2GIG or memory card so that's the reason why the 4 GIG wont work with it....
