What you wish to do is called "piggy-back" 1st mahe sure no pwer is going to existing outlet .2nd. attach wires same color as black is "hot" white is "nuetraul" and green is "ground" make sure all connections are tight.if your running this extra wire to a new outlet then wire in same manner. always double check your connects are correct and tight.once your extra outlet is in place, turn power back on and test ,

How would I connect 3 different wires to a plus to receive power one wire is from 3 outlets one is from a spotlight one is from a shed ?

Assuming Chuck, you are speaking of three separate circuits and you want to connect them into a power panel. If that is correct, I also assume you have along with the three hot conductors (wires), three neutral (white) wires. If these assumptions are correct, install three breaker into your panel and attach each circuit into these new breakers. A word of caution, Ensure the white conductors are connected to the neutral bar where all other white wires are connected. Saying all of this, I now suggest you either get an electrician to do the job or at least get someone with more knowledge than you have to help. Improperly installed electrical service is hazardous not only to the structure but it is DEADLY. Good luck.

How to wire in an on-off switch for ceiling light from power source going to living room.

Pretty easy if you can get the wires from the existing wall outlet. Just run a wire from existing outlet to the where you want the new light. Install inside an approved ceiling electrical outlet box and then run another wire to where you want the switch or switches. If you go to home depot or the library you can look at the books with diagrams on how to wire it. You can skip the wall switch if you use a light with a pull chain.

How do I install a 220 volt outlet using existing wiring?

I would recommend getting an electrician. If you chose not to any mistakes you make can be a safety hazard and possibly kill somebody.

In this area we are required to use a 4 wire connection; Phase, Phase, Neutral (bare or white in the US), Earth (green in the US). You are missing the Earth connection and will need to run a wire back to your electrical panel and connect to the earth bus. Earth and Neutral are connected together at one point in your home. In older systems the Neutral was used for the earth connection as well, this is dangerous if a fault occurs. The Earth may also be called ground as could the Neutral but they are different even though they are connected connected together at one point in your system. If you have an older electrical system and do not have the appropriate Earth connections I would highly recommend hiring an electrician, electricity can cause fires and kill.

Dedicated 20 amp outlet

Ideally you should run the line straight from the circuit breaker out to your hot tub, but if the line running from your circuit breaker to the box you're using now is 20amp. you can absolutely connected to that. to be up to code it cannot be an open box it needs to be closed After you wire in your 70ft connection. (that's assuming the box that you're using is dedicated already to your hot tub) then the only difference would be is your using extra line and costing you tenths of a penny extra and electricity per hour.

I want to install a GFI outlet in a bathroom that only has a outlet in the light fixture? How do I run a wire from the switch which has 2 switches, one for the fan and one for the light above the med...

Make sure you turn off the power at the power panel.
If you are lucky you will find the following in the electrical box behind the light:
  1. A black wire that brings power from the fuse/breaker panel--connected directly to one or two other (black) wires (not to the light).
  2. A white wire from the panel--connected to one or more white wires including one to the light.
  3. A black or white (maybe taped black) wire that comes from the switch and is connected to the light.
  4. A green or bare wire connected to the box and maybe also to the light.
If this is the case then you can run a new cable to a new electrical box in the wall for the GFI. Connect the new black wire to the Line In terminal/black wire of the GFI outlet and to the group of black wires in (1) above. Connect the new white wire to the Neutral terminal/white wire of the GFI outlet and to the group of white wires in (2) above. Connect the new green/bare wire to the Ground terminal/green wire of the GFI outlet and to the original box or ground wire. If there is a Load/Feed through wire on the GFI outlet, tape the end of it and do not use.
If the black and white wires described in (1) and (2) above do not appear in the electrical box at the light then they are probably in the switch box and there will be only one black wire and one white wire that connect to the light on the wall. In that case you will need to run a new cable from the switch box to the new outlet. You will not be able to wire the new outlet from the existing electrical box at the light unless you do it through the switch and it will not be on unless the switch is on.
