You have a sensor in upside down. Usually the lids only work when down, switch off when not - go back over what you took apart and see if there is something you could have got 180 degrees wrong.

SOURCE: Microwave oven stopped working

OMG!!! This was perfect. I had the same problem. Timer was on but the fan nor the table turned. Just when I was about to take the thing and chuck it in the trash, I thought I'd give the above method a try. I turned the microwave on, and nudged the door sligthly upwards.... miracle! it started to work. to make it permanent, I took the door off (the cap on the inside of the door, on the upper hinge needed to be removed with a flat head screwdriver, very easy, just pry it off). Once I took the door off, I placed a small washer on the bottom hinge to raise the door slightly. Put the door and hinge cap back on... and Voila! The microwave works now. Thanks for the help guys...

Jvm2070sk02 interior light does not come on can the bulb be changed?

    HELLO.

When you open the door on your microwave, it sends an electrical current to the halogen lightbulb mounted inside the microwave. The signal turns on the light and illuminates the inside of the microwave.
In addition, while cooking your food, the light illuminates so you can monitor the condition of your food while cooking. While the bulb generally lasts a long time, when it burns out, you must service your microwave.

1 Unplug the microwave from its electrical outlet. Never service an electrical appliance while it's plugged in.

2 Remove the screws that hold the outer shell onto the microwave chassis. Often the screws are on the bottom or back of the microwave. Use a Phillips screwdriver or Torx driver to remove the screws.

5 Place the cover back onto the box if necessary and place the shell over the microwave chassis.

6 Secure the shell to the chassis with the original screws and the screwdriver or torx driver.

GE Spacesaver JVM 1870 carousel doesn't turn, doesn't heat

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation and other operations, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Details of our service and critical safety information and disassembly information is at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

    GE Profile XL 1800

It's a little more complicated than Leo2 suggested but the general concept is correct. *NOTE: Turn off power to the microwave first before servicing it!
At the top of the microwave there are three screws.
Remove the three screws and slowly pull down from the top to get the plastic airvent out of your way.
You will notice a plastic vent with two screws. Remove the forward screw and then pull from the top of the vent to access the rear screw. Now you have access to a metal plate above the fan assembly. Remove the screws at the leading edge to lift up the plate. You don't need to remove it, just lift it up!
Now you have access to the metal box over the lightbulb. Squeeze the box and the box with the light bulb inside come out as one unit. You'll know you have the correct bulb as it is attached to two white wires. Remove the bulb. Should be a halogen 120-130 volt with 35 watt brightness. Remember, halogen bulbs should never be handled with your bare hands. The grease from your fingertips heats up and the bulb burns out prematurely. Always handle these bulbs with rubber or cloth gloves. They are expensive little sucks ($7.79 at Home Depot) so handle them with care!
    Good Luck ...

    Interior Light

The interior oven light can be accessed in the following way:
1.Open door and remove the top grill via the 2 screws along the top edge.
    2. In the interior light will be under metal plate with fasten by single screw. The halogen bulb is rated at 120V 20watt. Looks like a G-8 bulb with 8mm pin spacing with o.a.l. 1-5/8" long
