I would wait until you are at least 15 years old. Before that you may not really understand what brushing a british longhair cat is all about.

My Rooma 500 series, when I press the start button to go....it sounds like it wants to move forward and the sings a song and doesn't move

I agree with the previous poster, every time you run Romba, you have to empty out the dirt compartment, take the beater brushes off and pull the hair, lint and thread off the brushes (if you use a cat or dog brush this works fantastically) and remove the lint that's wrapped around the ends of the beater brushes. Every other time, you need to remove the thread and hair wrapped around the rotating brush (sometimes you need to remove the Phillips head screw holding this on and really clean it out). Finally the rolling ball wheel needs to be popped out using a narrow, small screwdriver and all the stuff trapped in there removed.

Hi my name is Sapphire. I have a dyson DC24. The roller bar keeps cutting out, I can't depress the reset button properly and so it won't start up again properly without me trying for ages. The brush bar...

One possibility is a failing reset button, Another option is a bind causing excessive energy to spin it. This will cause the reset button to trip. Check the bearings in the motor and brush roll.

HV9010P ROLLER BRUSH DOESN'T MOVE

That is probably the belt. Open up the bottom screws and take a look. The cat or dog hair usually gets stuck in the ends of the rollers and stops the belt from effectively pushing the roller. You may find that the belt is still on the drive and the roller. If you do just clean out the roller.

The rotatory brush stopped turning after sucking rug fringe onto it. The belt looks fine. The suction is fine.

Found on website "dysoninfo.com"

A problem I have run into a couple of times at home, generally when I am cleaning the bathroom, is that my Dyson brush won't turn. First off I would say be sure to check that you haven't pressed the button that turns the brush on and off, as silly as it may seem it may actually be the case. But if it isn't follow the steps below to clean your brush and get it working right again.
First and foremost always unplug your Dyson before you start any sort of work on it. Next grab a seat on the floor, yeah park your butr on the floor it will be easier because you won't be trying to lift your vacuum up to you. Now take a look at the brush bar to see how much hair and debris is caught in there. If there is very little then you probably don't have much to worry about and you can press the brush reset bar on the side of the vacuums head and your problem with they Dyson brush not turning in fixed. However if you are like me and you find that your cat, dog, and wife's hair are wound pretty tightly around the brush head you will need to take some time to pull in out of there as it is probably what is restricting the motorized brushes movements. Once you are finish you can also press the button on the side of the vacuums head. Now stand the vacuum and yourself back up and go plug it in. I bet that if you cleaned it out your Dyson brush will turn as normal.

Took Roomba apart to clean and now the pick up brushes start and stop during cleaning. The vaccum is clean but will not constantly spin. Runs great but pick up brushes start and stop. Is there a number...

You can go to www.iRobot.com . This is the roomba website. You should be able to find replacement parts, customer support, videos or the Roomba product, and more.
When you cleaned your Roomba, did you also clean the wheel wells and outer most edges of the brush brush cartridges? There can be lint, threads, and at my house, cat hair, wrapped around the outermost edges of the brush cartridges.
I hope my suggestions help. If so, please contact Fixya and rate my solution.
Thanks and Good Luck!

When vacuuming hardwood floor, hair gathers on brush and never sucks into vacuum. I spend most of my time cleaning off brushes. How do I clean hardwood floor with dog hairs.

1. Broom and dust pan, then mop
2. Wet dry vac with wide non-brush attachment
3. Here's a link to a vacuum professing to clean pet hairs well

http://www.evvive.com/shop-by-brand/miele-open-box-canister-vacuums/miele-s516-cat-dog-vacuum_2

4. Try to find a wide attachment for the hose that has no brush, maybe something from a wet dry vac.

5. Take your dog outside and brush every day. It helps, but no matter what you do, you will have pet hair if you have an indoor pet.

6. Go to the source. See if your dog will be vacuumed. Half serious on this one.

Good luck!

There are a couple of tabs on both sides of the top housing that need to be unlocked by using a flat screw driver, then the top will come off. The u shaped collar on the tube will then give way to take the roller brush out to clean.

The brushes are not rotating - checked the belt no problem - what else could it be?

Assuming a drive pulley is not loose and the motor turns, try turning the brushes by hand. If they require much effort they may be jammed by dirt. My cat is a constant culprit!
