SOURCE: problem with trac feeds

When you drop the feed dogs on most modern machines they do not return to the up position until the motor rotates one full turn. Your feed dog will then be up and ready to use.

SOURCE: Will the Brother ES2000 sew a buttonhole without

Have you made sure the buttonhole lever is in the buttonhole tab?

This tutorial will show you how to make a zig-zag buttonhole -

The demo is a little sloppy. I stitch into the ends and I set the stitch length to zero when making the bar tacks across the ends. It takes a little practice.

I hope this helps.

My machine does not recognize that the embroidery unit is attached. It keeps saying attach embroidery unit. Has anyone had this problem

What make and model of sewing machine do you have? I have seen this problem with a Husqvarna Viking Designer I (or similar older Viking machine). In that case, the problem was corrosion on the contacts between the embroidery unit and the sewing machine. The solution was to use an electronic contact cleaner to clean the contacts; this is one product: . Make sure that the machine is unplugged. Spray the contact cleaner on the contacts. (In some cases, you should then connect the embroidery unit to the machine and remove it a few times.) Allow the product to dry before you plug in the sewing machine again.

In another case, the solution was actually easier. The owner had two similar embroidery machines. She managed to mix up which embroidery unit went with which sewing machine. Neither embroidery unit could be properly seated on the machine that she attempting to use it with. Once the embroidery unit was paired with the correct machine, both pairs worked.

I hope this helps.

Can you describe your problem a bit better.
From what you describing it sounds like the machine does start to embroider, it starts slow then it stops.
It is normal when you first start to embroider that the machine runs very slowley, does just a few stitches and stops. This is normal and all Berninas do this. The machine stops after these first few embroidery stitches so you can cut off the extra piece of thread. Cut off the extra thread then push the reversing button again and the machine should start to embroider. It will stop again if a color change is needed. This information is provided in your owners manual.
Make sure you have lowered the feed dogs for embroidery and there is no need to have the foot control attached for embroidery though it won't affect anything if it is attached to the machine...

How to transfer embroidery patterns to Brother sewing/embroidery machine

Machine designs first designator is the file name. Your machine shows the file number for the design you want. You do still need to "select" that design number shown to actually begin teh file transfer from a thumb drive or cable direct from your computer if your machine has that feature.

How do I attach my embroidery foot to my Janome 8080?

if its like the 8000 and 9000, you unscrew the metal part that clips onto the foot, and attach the plastic embroidery foot ( P?) instead. It does not just clip on like other feet. the screw holds the embridery foot in place

Trouble with Viking 955E Embroidery Unit and Control Panel

Welcome to FixYa. Hi - Viking has online tutorials for several of the 955E features, including embroidery.
Here is a link to the 955E tutorials:

Some general hints and tips:
  • Always turn your machine off when you attach or remove your embroidery arm or when you  insert or remove an embroidery design card.
  • When you insert your embroidery arm, insert an embroidery design card. When you turn your machine back on, you should see a message on the info screen that says something like "embroidery arm will move". Press OK, and the embroidery arm will calibrate.
  • After the embroidery arm has calibrated, place your hoop on the embroidery arm.
  • Look at each end of your embroidery arm - you will find a connector that must slip into a corresponding connector on the embroidery machine. This connector slides into a corresponding connector on the machine. The connector on the machine has a cover that slides open and closed. If it is closed, it you might not spot it right away. You must open this slot when you attach the embroidery arm - slide the embroidery arm straight back (not at an angle), so the embroidery arm connects to the machine securely. Although you might need to nudge the embroidery arm in place, do not force it!
The Viking site also has projects for the 955E that will help you learn to use some of the features - you can probably sew most or all of the free projects on the site, but projects for the 955E incorporate features on your machine that might be available on others. And look for the free designs!
Hope this helps get you started.  If you and other readers have a minute to rate this information (good or bad, or indifferent), your rating will help me determine if I understood your question and if my answer is helpful.
A few more recommendations...You can order a manual for your machine from any Viking dealer and probably online, and I recommend that you do. Your machine has some very cool sewing and embroidery features. I sold Vikings, so I can answer specific questions about many individual features, but Viking manuals are not expensive and can help you save time and avoid irritating problems.

If you have more questions, please comment and I will do my best to help you further. I am pleased to answer general questions about embroidery, if you want hints and tips or run into problems.

Cheers, Ginny

Embroidery stick

Four questions:
What model Husqvarna sewing machine are you using?
Are you using a Husqvarna formatted USB stick?
Is the embroidery unit attached when you put in the stick?
Is your machine using the latest version of its software?

I might be able to give some more specific help once I know the answers to the above.
