When using a pressure washer, my instructions said not to let it idle for more than 5 mins because the water that cools the pump gets hot and does not circulate so it will overheat pump. Also low flow of water will cause the same thing.

My instructions with my pressure washer said to not let it idle for more than 5 mins. because it has to have water circulation to cool it. If you dont pull the trigger it will get the water as hot as the pump and overheat.

It is not pumping engine oil

You need a working oil pump to pump the oil around the engine. If the oil is not being pumped through, the oil pump has failed or there is a blockage in the lubrication system.

Most likely the oil pump has failed and needs to be replaced.

Pressure washer failed

What are the symptoms? Water in oil requires changing seals ( probably high and low pressure) Low , fluctuating pressure is probably valves need cleaning or replacement. Low pressure could also be worn unloader. Water leaking from pump is worn high pressure seals. Many possible failures.
Saying pump has failed is like saying my car does not work.

What is causing the fuel pump to fail on my 1987 Nissan Stanza? The mechanic is about to put on the third new pump.

The possible causes are a dirty fuel filter and since the fuel pump sits in the fuel tank and is cooled by the fuel, always keeping the fuel level at low or empty which causes the fuel pump to run hot deminishing its service life.

Won't empty & will not spin

These machines won't spin untill the're empty, so your problem would probably be the drain function. It's not uncommon for the pumps in these machines to get something jammed in them or even for the pump itself to fail. The pump is accessed from underneath the cabinet...Most important to empty the machine before removing the pump!!!..Probably best to call a tech, because the pump resistance should be checked.. A failing pump can cause other components to fail as well......Not a big job for a tech. Good luck...Nomess

How long does it take to change a oil pump in a 99 dodge ram the gauge keeps going to low when I come to a stop and then when I take off it goes back up.

Before replacing the oil pump, please do a mechanical oil pressure test to verify the oil pump is failing. Get the pressure specs for your engine, to verify the pump is failing. Your switch may be failing causing this concern and not the pump. IS the oil level at the proper level? These engines have an issue with the "pan" that is bolted to the lower side of the intake manifold. If your engine is using oil, and you can't find any leaks, this gasket has failed.
