To my knowledge there is no Kodak DX 7500. So you are referring to a DX 5700 or a DX 7590. for both, start charging the battery. Then after you put in the battery, press the on / off button for a second the camera should switch on. But considering the age of the camera, it could be the battery does not work. I wonder if it is worth buying a battery for an almost 10 year old camera. So if it does not work, don't try to buy a battery, it could be more expensive then a brand new camera, delivering better results than the camera you now have.

Change password in BIOS

Remove the Power Cord, remove the Case, turn computer onits side so you can see inside (you might need a flashlight). Remove theCMOS Battery which is a silver battery about the of a nickel that is onthe motherboard. You will need a flathead screw driver to pop it out. Leaveit out for an hour or two and then put it back and reboot the computer. When you reboot you will have to go into theBios or System Setup because the computer will have forgotten the date, timeand bios password.

First enter the BIOS and make sure that your hard drive and optical drives are still detected by the system. Sometimes a BIOS update will turn detection off for drives, etc. If all checks out the make the hard drive the first boot device, then try to restart. A BIOS update should not alter the data on the hard drive (Operating System or files), so if it was booting before, it should still start now.
Just curious, though, why did you update the BIOS to begin with? Was it recommended by an HP technician or something like that?
