No power to my Vizio TV

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

Where can i buy a new power cored for my 47 inch rca projector tv at

the cords are usually fairly generic, large three pin like a computer tower no problem. If a odd shaped one go looking by model number on the internet, the older the set the more generic the cord will be.

I have a proscan 42LA45H 42 in television that has started making a buzzing noise from the back. What is causing this, and what do I need to do to fix.

Hi
If picture and sound is Ok, and only this buzzing sound is heard from the back of the TV, It should be due to core soose of some ferrite cored transformers inside, especially to the power supply regulator board of the TV. Open the back cover of the TV and swtich it ON. Listeen very carefully which transfromer makes the buzzing noise. Just trouch and press the core of the transformer suspected with some non-cunductive material like glass rod, or a stick of dry wood. You can identify the transformer that makes noise by this way. After identifying the exact transformer; switch OFF the set, unplug it from mains socket, apply some "Super Glue" like fast boanding glue to the joint of core of that transformer. Allow sometime for the glue to set. This will solve the buzzing sound problem of your TV. OK

My television's makin a sharp buzzing noise and giving me headaches. how can i fix it?

Hello
There is some loose in the ferrite cores of the two transformers inside your TV. Both are working at highe frequencies, so a slight loose between its core will make a buzz sound which is very annoying. One of them is at the power supply section [SMPS transformer] and the other is LOT [Line Output Transformer]. You just open your TV, and switch it on, and listen which one makes noise. Just press its core with any noncudactable material, like a small dry wood piece or so, and see whether the noise stops. This way you can determine the trasformer which has the core loose. After confirming it, switch off the TV, and applay a little super glue or so, fast drying glue, to the cores' joints and press it for a while., and let it dry well before switch on your TV.
Caution:- Never use a pencil for this purpose, as the center core or pencil is made up of graphite, which is an electrically conductive material.
The fault is core loose, and you only look for that. If you need furthermore asistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya. OK.

Power cord doesn't connect correctly where it plugs into TV unless I hold it tight. As soon as I let it go the TV goes off. It is original power cord. I bought a new one and it has the same problem.

Probably the solder has let loose inside the television. Find someone handy, take off the back and solder it up. Use only Rosin Core Solder.....don't use Acid Core!

Make sure you don't short out anything!

Sony Bravia KDL-40V300 won't turn on.

Unfortunately 5 blinks is a LCD panel error. The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD panel. This is the most expensive part in the TV.
part number: 1-802-488-12
List price: $1336.32
Core charge: 1790.00
You could try to replace it yourself but would need to take the whole TV apart by first taking off the back cover, then removing all the boards in order to get to the panel before putting it back together but I would just recommend buying a new TV as the price of the repair exceeds the price of a new TV of the same size.

Help is at hand. but you do need basic electrical skills for the first solution and handy soldering skills for the 2nd.

Total replacement of power cable and plug. you will need to buy new flex and plug. normally two core flexible (multicore not solid core) cable.

Open up the rear case to the tv and keep all screws. DO NOT touch the end of the tv tube as high voltage lingers a while after unplugging. You are looking / tracking the power cable where it fits to the tv motherboard.

Take a standard solder iron and remove each cable in turn. noting the colour and positions. Prepare your new cable feeding it into the casing and motherboard to suit. Apply flus and solder to secure each new cable in place. Hold cable while it sets and cools. CHECK there is no solder connecting these cables together for obvious reason these DO NOT connect together.

Replace casing and all screws in reverse order.

You should have a good to go new cable and a tv working fine.

Want to buy a new computer for personel use , which cpu is better dual core or core2duo girish email. girishpratap@yahoo.co.in

If you going to be using intensive programs like 3d editing, gaming, video editing, photoshop/image editing, or just multitasking and keeping alot of programs open you should get a faster cpu speed, and probably the core 2 duo. Core 2 duo (intel) is dual core and 64bit which gives more processing power, for some applications. Dual core is just normal processor (32bit) and just has 2 cores.

CPU is basically for the computers thinking/multitasking/processing info. If you want to multitask alot of programs your going to need processing power AND alot of RAM, the more the better/faster. If your going to be gaming or doing intesive stuff with graphics, you need a powerful video card. And hard disk is solely dependent on your storage needs too.

If your just going to be surfing the web, emailing, facebook, watching dvd's, and whatnot, any computer (new) should do you fine. But if you want HD video you need a powerful video card and processor.

Also When I mean powerful I dont mean the most powerful, just the mid-range of 'power'. So if you want to get anything more than basic, go for a mid-priced PC. Also this will let your computer last longer as updates and new software tend to slow down your computer, and you need more power to keep up with new stuff, but don't worry, it wont happen that fast!
