Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop
Do you have instructions for the removal and replacement of a CPU cooling fan for my Dell Dimension 2400
Make sure u can open the casing well to expose the interior parts without causing any damage. Then by close look at the processor area , that is where the heat sink is located. Normally the dell dimension 2400 has a green channel shaped structure that acts as a passage for the air that enters in and out for cooling the heat sink. It has a locking parts that slides into the casing back by slight pressing to the back of the casing just behind the processor area, be so observant to notice the locking parts. then the fan is just fixed behind that green " channel like" and its fixed on the rear side of the casing,

You can search for "fan" in your pdf viewer by entering Ctrl-F and then "fan".

This should be done by a computer expert. If you ground yourself or your system you could fry your hard drive with static. You have to make sure it is replaced with the same exact one or this too will cause problems. You can get some good prices on fans on e-bay just make sure it's not refurbished. Somethings you just can't substitute. Go new. If you ground it properly there's only four bolts typically holding it on. Take out the bolts/screws and unplug lead. If this is new to you, take it somewhere it's worth it not to loose all your info. Let me know if I can help.

You will notice that replacing the fan is not specifically
mentioned, but it should be fairly easy.
Open the case as noted in the instructions, follow the power
wire from the fan to the motherboard, then unplug the connector from the
motherboard, and remove the assembly.
Some of the earlier fan shrouds just lift up and out, but
others have tabs to hold them in.
Regarding the fan, there might be two release levers
accessible from inside the case, but the one by the PSU can be hard to
It might easier to push the retaining tabs, in from outside,
using a small screwdriver, pen or whatever.
The installation of the new fan, is just a matter of fixing
the new one in place and connecting the cable.
Good luck, and do rate the solution if got help
