Unless someone has reformatted or removed the hard drive, the OS may still be available if the drive hasn't failed. The data for the boot manager has been lost. You will need a Windows 7 x64 bit OS install disc, assuming the original OS is installed, or a third-party partition manager with boot repair options. A member of a MUG (Microsoft Users Group) or a computer repair person will often have spare OS install DVDs.You'll need to turn the computer off and turn it on pressing F12 repeatedly to get a single boot to optical drive option. If that fails, turn off the computer and then turn it back on and access the BIOS. (Often this takes pressing Esc, F1, F2, or Del repeatedly right after turning the system. There will be a quick splash screen that indicates the key stroke. If you miss the timing and see the no OS error, try again.) Set the ZX4351to boot from the DVD drive and save the change. Put in the OS disc while the computer has power.

Restart the computer. Press enter to confirm that the machine should boot from the optical drive if you get a prompt for it. Set the OS language and click Next. Choose the Repair option and select the command prompt option. Type "bootrec.exe /ScanOS" without the quotes and press enter. If the program identifies any Windows installations, you can continue. Next type the following commands pressing enter after each one:
bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd
bootrec.exe /FixMbr
bootrec.exe /FixBoot

If the ScanOS tool didn't find a Windows OS, you can try typing C: and doing a dir command to look for the disc with a Windows directory. (Try other letters as well.) If the Windows directory shows up, you can try bootsect /nt60 C:\ (or appropriate drive letter) and then the bootrec commands.

If you have a dual-boot system (2 Windows OSes found or a UEFI bios) stop after the bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd step above. Then reboot the computer and see if the Windows drive is found.

If you are using a third-party partition manager, follow the directions for that software after booting to the disc.

If the above steps don't work and the original hard drive is still present. There is a hidden partition on all Gateway drives which can be used to return the computer to the original state. (I hope you backed up regularly.) Restart the computer after resetting it to boot to the hard drive in the BIOS. Then press Alt+F10 repeatedly when you see the Gateway screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to start the Recovery process. (If that fails and you built your Recovery Media, you can boot to the System CD optical disc, as above. Press F12 or set the BIOS to boot to the optical drive. After starting the recovery process, follow the prompts to put in the rest of the recovery disc set (external hard drive or optical discs).

Use your backups to recover the data files that had been on the computer. You will need to reinstall all of the software that you installed (or installed after building your recovery disc set).

If you have upgraded the OS to Windows 8, the Recovery Partition on the hard drive may not work.

If the hard drive has failed, you will need to install a new hard drive and recover it from the Recovery Media and your backups. (If you do not have a Recovery System disc and recovery disc set (or hard drive backup). you may need to install Windows from the Install media and use the License key from the label on the back of the system.) If you do that, then the extra programs provided by Gateway will not be installed.

I hope this helps.

When did you get this Gateway? Where did you get it? I assume you mean that it has no OS, cause Gateway does NOT make an operating System. Need more details, please!

Did you format your Hard Drive? did you check your hard drive cables to make sure they have a connection to the motherboard and hard drive? do you have a boot disk to restore your Operating system?

My gateway ZX4351 is too loud.. How do I open the case and clean the fans?

Depends if the fan's can even be cleaned. There will probably be several screws you will need to remove on the back, along with the stand. The edges may need to be pried open, preferably with a plastic pry bar so you don't damage the case. Once the case is open unscrew the fan and see if it has a rubber stopper in the center, possibly under a sticker. If it does then you can open that and add a drop or two of sewing machine oil and it should be quiet after. If it isn't then I'd just replace the fan.

ZX4351-47 fan too noise

Just take it off and order some fans on Newegg. Stealth fans are what you want to look for. Just ensure you get the same size and direct airflow appropriately. I like the neon light ones :)

How do I remove and replace the hard drive in the gateway zx4351

While I have no idea what you mean about the monitor, I can address the HD situation.

You must remove it, and set the jumpers to slave, then attach the HD to a working PC of your own, and see whether the data is in tact, or scrambled from the lightning.

Cheers!

I have a Gateway zx4351. Can I upgrade to a dedicated video card from my GeForce 9200?

It is possible... Yes.

Is it worth it... Maybe the ram upgrade to 8GB is worth the money...

Also, some all in one computers are very hard to even figure out how to open. You better make sure you can do it before you try. You also might want to check if opening the case voids your warranty too.

Speaker stop working on my gateway ZX4351

It's possible that you somehow messed up the audio driver... Go here and download the latest driver and re-install it.... You may want to uninstall the current one first from device manager.
