SOURCE: How to extend speaker cables of Philips MX6050D DVD Home Theater

Go down to your local RadioShack or any place that sells wire of any sorts (heck, even Walmart might carry it now) and ask them for speaker wire. I'm not sure what the impedance of this particular model is, but you should be able to find it printed on the back of the speakers, or in your user's manual. This guide will help you to identify what size speaker wires you need, that way when you go in looking for speaker wire, you'll at least sound like you know what you're doing.

1. First things first, READ the Instruction Manual, I know most of you guys out there hate reading the instruction manuals but every system is different, so I'll generalize this article for an average system you can find at a retail store today.

2. Make sure you have the right cables to connect your TV to your Home Theater System, now days the best connection is called "HDMI" (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) this cable uses a digital signal to transfer both video and audio while giving you the best quality possible. But please make sure your Home Theater System has the "HDMI" as an input option. If it does not, you might have to resort to a analog connection such as "Component Cables" which will provide you with a High-Definition connection but with analog quality.

3. Now if you are using a current TV and a current Home Theater System and your system is able to use the "HDMI" cable, connection to said devices will be pretty easy, just hook one end of the "HDMI" cable to the "HDMI" input on the back of the TV, and the other end of the "HDMI" to the "HDMI" output on the back of the Home Theater System. Turn your devices on and make sure your input/outputs are configured for "HDMI" usage and vola! You should now be able to see and hear everything your heart desires!

4. Organization is key, after you have checked your connections and everything is working the way you want it to, utilize the cable/wire loom to organize your cables and use the zip ties to secure them in place, not too tight though, if you want to change things around in the future it's easier to cut the zip ties if you have enough room between the cable and the zip tie.

My Philips home theater model hts3105/98 is not working due to IC breakdown hence i need that ic number to replace it. hence please help me.

Every IC has their number printed on the top 1st line. If you have identified the IC, look for the number. If it is burnt & cannot get the number, you will have to refer the schematic diagram of the model. The service manual is available under following url. Just paste the following url in your browser , a download link is there.

The laser disc reader has failed. This could be caused by multiple things, most likely its not worth the repair however there are facilities that specialize in this. I would assume maybe try to sell it and go buy a new DVD player.

Phillips hts3105 tray does not open or not sound

Simple task first,

Check to see if any power to the player.

If so, unplug, leave overnight and see if it re boots just like a PC when you plug it in.

You can also try some elctronic switch cleaner spary(available from good electronic shops) spary into the draw it may free up the release mechanism dont worry wont damage machine.

LAST OPTION...BE CAREFUL !!!!!! Turn on machine, gently put a small flat end screwdriver blade into slot at top of draw and press open on remote and gently try to ease it oopen DO NOT force it. If this is going to work should not take much prssure at all. If it does not work, perhaps new machine time but they are very cheap these days.

What if the DVD's/CD's are not reading right.

You don't state the make and model # of the DVD player, [and, from the information in your post, it appears that you are referring to a stand-alone unit, rather than a computer device] Though it is possible that the region coding has changed. Have you had any other region code Discs in the player, and how often
