Why has my credit or debit card been charged twice?
Duplicate charges may be the result of sending a payment multiple times; for example, if you clicked the Send Money button several times. If the duplicate charge is the result of multiple payments that you made, the charges will not be credited to your card. You will need to contact the recipient to request a refund. To check for duplicate payments, please consult your History page.
1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/.
2. Click the History subtab.
3. Click the status of any transaction for more information.

You should contact the bank that you have your checking account/debit card with. They can tell you if the charges were actually posted on your debit card. You certainly don't want to pay twice and debit cards are different from traditional credit cards where you are establishing "credit" and pay toward the balance each month.

State your problem in the email and include the transaction number.
You have nothing to worry, it is just a program/database error. The transaction number is a proof that the payment has been entered and it's just that it is not showing on your history as you try to view it.
Check also if it affected your balance and include it in the email.
