If you mean the flat beater whip or dough hook then you grasp the attachment and lift up firmly and rotate the attachment counter clockwise as it is lifted off the planetary mounting pin, then the attachment should just fall off unless you are full of dried "Gunk" then you have to get the shaft and attachment warm to hot and wet to soften the "Gunk" so that the attachment comes loose. I hope this helps if not then get back to us so we can FixYa.

Kitchenaid ksm90ww stand up mixer while mixing my aunt put in another mixing tool and it just stipped mixing wont turn on nothing I assume she blew the motor but does anyone know if theres a reset button...

It sounds like stripped gears, does the mixer still turn on? The beater just wont spin anymore?

If that is the case the worm gear probably stripped out, that is part number w10112253, or for a quicker easier fix you can get that gear in an assembly for a couple more dollars, that would be part number 240309-2.

Here is a link to those parts on our website:

Dough mixing paddle will not stay in my wife's Viking mixer

pour a little wesson oil into the attachment holes and work the release while inserting and removing the attachment. Make sure the unit is unpluged. The oil will lubricate the lock mechanism.

Mixing blade on KSM50PPWH model will not release? Any ideas?

AHA, been on one of these before. Turn the attachments upward and put a little wesson oil in the sockets the attachments slide into. Depressing the release button several times in the process and pushing the attachment in. Make sure it is unplugged. Good luck, Ned

The mixing part of mixer not working motor is fine

Hi. Since I can't tell how much you have taken apart, I'll start from the beginning.

Remove the silver band, remove the top cover. At the top front of the mixer locate the transmission housing. If it's plastic, inspect it carefully for cracks around the screws and the body of this housing. If you find cracks, you have found the cheap plastic part that kitchenaid still installs in new mixers, and the cause of your trouble. They know that it's substandard but don't care enough to place a recall notice on this part. It may not please you to know that their replacement part is METAL like the original part should have been. "For the way it's made"! Indeed!

If you intend to repair the mixer yourself, go to kitchenaid's website, enter your model # and locate the parts list for your mixer. Download the drawings, they will assist you with your project.

Be sure to tell kitchenaid what you think of their cheap plastic part.

If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45

Doesn't mix in the bottom of mixer

Using the tilt release switch, tilt the head all the way back. This will expose a large screw inside the hinge which you can turn both ways to either get the beater closer or further away from the bottom of the bowl - can't remember which way is which, though. (I had the exact opposite problem: the dough hook was grating on the bottom of the bowl.)

Hope this helps. Have a happy Christmas

Hi, just purchased a sunbeam mixmaster 12 speed stand mixer. all parts are locked into place, plugged in, the light comes on, but it does not mix! what could be the problem?

Make sure the beater release is st the top position. You should feel a click. It has an electrical interlock in it.

You have to twist the bowl anti-clockwise to release it from the base. Twist clockwise to lock it when using the beaters.
