If you mean the flat beater whip or dough hook then you grasp the attachment and lift up firmly and rotate the attachment counter clockwise as it is lifted off the planetary mounting pin, then the attachment should just fall off unless you are full of dried "Gunk" then you have to get the shaft and attachment warm to hot and wet to soften the "Gunk" so that the attachment comes loose.
