You will need a new wiring harness adaptor either from Ford or the stereo manufacturer!

Then you should be able to get an adapter that fits between the standard ford plug and your new stereo plug and that will be from either the Ford dealer or the stereo manufacturer!

If you don't want to do that then get the wiring diagram from ford for your original stereo wiring! You have the wiring diagram for the new stereo, so cut the wires and reconnect without the plugs!

the question i'm asking tho....... which wires connect to which....the compponent wires are red, yellow black, blue/light blue.....the car harness wires are red/black, orange white, purple???

Stereo manufacturers don't generally keep wiring colours universal other than live and earth! The only way you can be sure is to follow a wiring diagram from the stock stereo and the replacement one! Just naming the colours of wires will not help!

SOURCE: re sent wire diagram gat all messed up

Hi
have we spoke before in previous post?
the red can go to any 12v live peramanent such as wire to clock or other item that has power with ignition off and the same with the yellow if your putting these to the same permanent live say from clock you can join these to together red/yellow to red on clock
the black can go to any metal or neg wire.
This should then have your device working the only problem im looking at for you now is the pink wire as this stops you using the device whilst driving as it goes to handbrake but i need to find out if its live or negative.
You could just wire the red/yellow to live and black to earth then see if it switches on and works if not then let me know and ill see about the pink wire ok
Makes sure you use inline fuses on the live wires so as not to short the device out.
Make sure you know what is permanent live to put the yellow/red wire to.
It doesnt need to be ignition it only says this so you cant use it with ignition off but you can wire it into any live feed from clock or switches so its up to you what to wire it to its just the pink wire im concerned about.

PINK: does it tell you to put it to live or earth on handbrake switch?

let me know ok

SOURCE: Wiring Problems

You didn't cut the plastic connectors off the factory wiring, did you? One is gray and one black.... if not, just get to a stereo shop and buy a wiring kit for your car and all colors will match. They're about $10. If you DID..... well..... we have a LOT of work to do....

SOURCE: Have Clarion DB148R cd car stereo but no wiring diagram

matching colors are the speakers, red it the accesory, needs to be hooked up to an alternating current, something that works with the ignitions, this will turn the sterio on and off, yellow is 12 volt or memory, constant power, blue is a remote wire for an amp. black is a ground wire and orange is normally an illumination wire, so when you dim your dash lights your stereo also dims.

You will need to go to locate auto parts store and buy the adapter which will allow you to fit the stereo without any wiring modifications.

I would get a wiring harness adapter for your car. You can wire your stereo to the harness and then plug it into the car's exsisting plug.

They are completely different harness connectors !

No problem. All you need is your vehicle year and make and you have that. Go to Wal*mart or Target and get a wire harness adapter. Cost about 10-15 bucks. It's in the auto/stereo department. If you'd like to pay a little more then go to BestBuy. This adapter will allow your vehicle harness to plug into it and tell you where to connect the wires onto the wires of your Sony stereo. Very easy. Have a great day.
