Probably where your graphics card and/or CPU is located under the bezel. Make sure you are not blocking the vent holes on the laptop, and try to keep the laptop raised in back to allow heat to dissipate. If it's old enough, the fans might be blocked with dust and/or failing, in which case the laptop won't cool properly.

Run system restore to an earlier date. This should fix it.
If it does not, then do restore back to factory default but backing up all your documents.
rate this please.

Clean the screen with a clean soft cotton cloth is the step #1
SEE FULL instruction HERE
Calibrate the touch screenThe command buttons and fields are displayed on the screen image at specific pixel points. To initiate a response, the touch screen interface needs to recognize exactly where a fingertip or pen touches the screen relative to the pixel position of the display. Each user has a slightly different hand-eye coordination response. Calibrating the touch screen allows the interface to compensate between where the program is expecting a touch and where the touch actually occurs. To calibrate the touch screen, place the tablet notebook in the desired orientation and do the following actions.
Compare your version of the firmware to the latest one at HP offical site HERE
Always get the latest firmware to avoid problem.
Always keep the screen clean!
