If you can't find any code; can do a code search procedure. If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the "device's brand name list" in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Surf the sites by type in the brand name to your set, in its search box.

If you are using a Sony remote and it is a Sony DVD player it should work, provided your remote has a DVD (or VCR-DVD) button.

I have a Sony theater reciever that I bought off eBay with no remote. So I looked around and Sears was selling a Sony Universal remote RM-VZ220 saying it was compatible with my Sony STR-K670P AM/FM...

1. Make sure you have good batteries in the remote and they are installed properly.

2. Press the DVD button on the second row of the remote, then check if the Power and other buttons on the remote work with your system (it probably won't since the factory setting is for a Sony DVD player, not a home theater system).

3. If it doesn't work you need to find the correct code number for your system and enter it into the remote. Press and hold the SET button for more than 3 seconds until the SET indicator lights up. Keep holding the SET button down and press the DVD button, then release both buttons. Then enter the code 31622. If you have done this correctly the SET indicator flashes 3 times, if not start over.

4. See if the remote now controls the theater system correctly. If not, repeat the above procedure #3 with the following codes one at a time until you find one that works: 31558, 31658, 31758, 31822, 31858, 32522.

Hi, I want to unlock my DVD player!! Can you help me ?

Hello

Find the unlock code for your Sony DVD player model. The DVD Demystifiziert and Video Help websites both provide unlock codes for Sony players that can be unlocked and made region-free. To view the code for your DVD player, click on the model of your DVD player in the Sony hack list on the website.

Perform the tasks included in the unlock code. For most Sony models that can be unlocked, the unlock code is not as simple as pressing a few buttons. You may need to open the tray on the player or power the unit on and off multiple times as part of the hack.

Turn the unit off and then on again after you have entered your unlock code, even if the code doesn't include this step. Once you power the unit back on, it should be region-free and should be able to read any DVD that you insert in the tray.

NOTE: Not all Sony players can be unlocked to be region-free. According to the DVD Demystifiziert page, no unlock codes are available for Sony models DVP-NC85H, DVX-11A, SLV-D980P and SLV-D500P.

Keep in mind that unlocking a Sony DVD player almost always voids the unit's warranty.
