Question about Fujitsu 12RLS Wall Ductless Air Conditioner Heat Pump 25 SEER 12,000
The inside unit makes a rapid ticking noise probably coming from the fan blades nicking the housing inside the unit. Banging on the outside temporarily stops the noise. I tried to get the cover off to see if I can tell where the noise is coming from but after removing all the screws, I can't get the cover off. Any suggestions other than calling a contractor? Thanks
Does the ac continue to make the noise even in fan only mode or is only in cooling mode. If only in cooling then it could be a gas related problem or blocked coil.

Testimonial: "It makes the same noise even when in fan only mode. I'm thinking it is the fan fins slightly touching the fan housing as it rotates. Problem is I can't get the cover off to see if I can get into that area to check out the cause."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The front cover can be dismantled (taken off as one Piece) by unscrewing the screws at the bottom of the air outlet (they are covered by screw cvers which will need to be taken off. Then just pull off the cover. PLEASE NOTE that the front panel (liftable to take out filters) will need to be removed lift up until 90 degrees and then pull off gentley and also take out filters before removing front cover

SOURCE: fujitsu heat pump noise
i would check the blades on the condenser fan motor and make sure they are not hitting anything if they are not, spin the fan see if the fan spin freely, it should, if it doesn't it could be the bearing in the motor are dry and going bad

Check the disconnect switch and make sure that both the fuses are good and not shot. If one is shot then the system wont work. There are two fuse. Also be careful due to you will be working around 210 volts
