Worn out beater gears

Soft plastic gears inside the machine from what I've read around the web, sorry but you'll need a complete new mixer.

I've had one apart to see just how fixable it might be, and it took me about 30 minutes to get the motor and gearbox into a position where they could be looked at. The gearbox had 2 stainless steel clips holding the top cover on and I didn't want to pry at those in case the cover snapped.

Not a lot gained from looking inside it sadly.

Need manual for Sunbeam model 2346 stand mixer

Sunbeam has the manual for the 2346-33 stand mixer on the product page: http://www.sunbeam.com/ca/productdetail.aspx?section=kitchen&cid=14&pid=5280 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.sunbeam.com/ca/manuals/Sunbeam/002346-033-000_English.pdf . The manual covers several models. Note: you will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to read the manual.

I hope this helps.

I have problem with the gears of the mixer sunbean 2343. Since I can buy all the pieces that compose the system

Please clarify your question. I understand that you are thinking of buying replacement parts for the mixer to correct the gear problem. Is that correct?

Beaters won't turn bowl still does turn

I just took mine apart for this same issue. What i found was the plastic beater drive gears have been stripped by the motor worm gear. I am currently looking for these parts to replace them.

Middle better comes loose

Try placing some "braces" rubber bands around the shafts of the beaters. This should tighten the hold of the shaft with the mixer and keep them more straight.

The beaters won't go around. The motor is running

I can't solve this problem, but mine just died doing the very same thing. Motor is running, the revolving base is turning, and the beaters are just sitting there. Ruined an entire batch of divinity!

Have a sunbeam heritage stand mixer model 2346-000.

Make sure the bowl is off to the side. I wouldn't get rid of a mixer just because the bowl doest't, if it's a good powerful mixer. There aren't many replacement parts available except directly from sunbeam. You need to get a replacement motor for the bowl turntable.

Sunbeam 2346

I just did it. Get your digital camera and take pictures along the way so you'll know how to reassemble it.
On the front of the mixer, there is a chrome Sunbeam sticker. Use a pocket knife, slide it under the sticker and pry/peal it off. Then you will see a single screw that goes into the guts of the mixer. Unscrew it and remove the front of the mixer. You'll then see two screws that keep the top of the mixer on. Remove those and you can undo the top housing.
You take off the back of the mixer in a similar manner. Use a screwdriver to pry off the chrome cap on the back, then remove the single screw and the speed control will come off.
The gear box just above the blades is a potential area for the growling. It is pewter colored metal held in place by four screws. Clean out the old grease and replace with new (NOT oil, grease, like axle grease or lithium grease).
Use a toothbrush to get the old dust and flour off the innards of the machine. I also used a can of compressed air to blow it out and sprayed the electrical contacts of the motor with WD40.
Mine works like a champ now. Took about an hour.

Regarding the Sunbeam Mixmaster (model 2346): How do I remove the front cover of the mixer so that I may reallign or replace the beater gears?

Pry the beater release button out with a screwdriver. There are two screws underneath it and one under the motor housing between the the beater holes. This will allow you to remove the chrome front cover, but not the motor and drive assembly. Getting to the part that contains the gears requires complete disassembly of the mixer. It is not designed for service, and requires patience and a variety of tools to disassemble.

It has a metal worm gear and plastic drive gears. If the beaters are out of alignment, then one or both of the plastic gears are stripped and the mixer is junk. Repair plus shipping costs equals the price of a new mixer. This is the weak point of these mixers and a fundamental flaw in an otherwise robust and sturdy design. It is definitly not the same mixer *********** bought 30 years ago.

Stripped beater gear

It is terminal. This is the fatal design flaw of these mixers. The gears are made of soft plastic and strip easily. Even the gear housing is plastic that is either glued or melted together to make it unserviceable. I have never suceeded in finding the part from either Sunbeam or one of the many appliance repair places on the web (who charge the cost of a new mixer for repair). Sunbeam does not repair them; if it is determined to have malfunctioned due to quality or design while under warranty, it is simply replaced with a new one. I had mine replaced under warranty twice, each time they sent me a new one complete with extra bowls and beaters. Now I have three sets of bowls and beaters and no functioning mixer.
