What are the specs on the motor? Have you checked the compatibility of it to your unit?

What could cause carrier fault code 42 besides bad inducer

Could be several causes.
1. Blockage on piping
2. Water in inducer housing slowing down inducer impeller
3. Condensate trap for furnace clogged up.
4. Inducer motor going bad.
5. Leak in vacuum hoses or not connected.

Inducer Motor Noise

Bad induction assembly is common with these units. If it's the style that has the motor install in what looks like a square black plastic box with tube connections off to the left and right. Replace the whole assembly, not just the motor. If you are mechanically inclined replacement isn't to hard.(make sure electricity to furnace is off). Cost to purchase induction assembly(look online) is around $300. If you have a company do it expect a bill between 650 and 800.

Will goodman outdoor ac work with bryant indoor unit

This is true as long as it is not a heat pump. Make sure they replace the piston (metering device to match the outdoor units required piston size. Or if the indoor coil is metered via TXV, it will automatically meter the refrigerant flow. If you are mismatching a system, make sure an acid test is performed on the old refrigerant and take appropriate measures with the new system if the test shows positive acid. They need to definitely install a liquid line drier.

Inducer motor voltage

All inducer motors should have 110-130 volts going to them unless they are one of the newer variable speed models. Be sure your multi-meter is set to A/C volts, not D/C.

I am trying to replace my old bryant heat pump with a new bryant heat pump, but I am having a difficult time figuring out the tonage. Can you tell me if I have the model number?

yes just post the model number and someone will be glad to help you..
fyi if the model number has for example 373036 373042 373048
the o and number after it usually is the btu value...
12000 btu's = 1 ton so a 036 would be a 3 ton 042 3 1/2 060 would be a 5 ton
post the number someone will help you out... another way to find out
carrier which makes bryant units can help you also
a number for ft. worth location is 817-834-4496 good luck to you

Bryant Plus 90 Furnace - Blower works fine and intermittently blows warm air but will not bring house to temp set on thermostat... Get a 1-3 error (one blink and then 3 quick blinks of the LED) Thanks

PRSSURE, DRAFT SAFGUARD, AUX-LIMIT SWITCH(WHEN USED)OR BLOCKED VENT
SWITCH(WHEN USED) DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED (DOWNFLOWONLY)
If open longer than five minutes, inducer shuts off for 15 minutes
before retry.
Check for:
* proper vent sizing
* defective inducer motor
* restricted vent
* excessive wind
* low inducer voltage(115VAC)
* defective blower motor or capacitor
* defective pressure switch
* inadequate combusstion air supply
* disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing
If it opens after trial for ignition period, blower will come on for
90 sec. recycle delay.
Check your air filter for blockage, check pressure switch for a buildup of moisture. Make sure your inducer motor is turning and creating a vacuum to the pressure switch. Make sure all venting is clear and free of water or debris. Make sure there is no water in inducer motor and all drains are draining.

Bryant furnance clicking, won't fire

try checking the pressure sensing switch,it has a tube that should run somewhere close to the inducer fan.sometimes this hose fills with liquids,and makes the units act funny.I don't know if you have a condensing unit or what.the furnace wont try to light if it cant tell the inducer motor is running.any induced draft unit will work this way.you can also do a temp. bypass of the pressure switch to make sure the contacts on it are closing just be sure your inducer fan is running,and you cant leave it like that its just a test.that is a safety feature you really need.

Induced draft motor

The inducer motor is what takes the cabonmonoxide out of the house from the unit and should not be bypassed
