Lg flatron w1943tb color fades in and out to a blue green

Follow the following solutions, this should fix up your trouble
1. Turn yourmonitor on. It should be on for at least 20 minutes before you continue.
2.Press the"Auto/Select" button on the front of your computer's monitor. Thescreen will be wavy while the adjustment happens. When the screen stops beingwavy, the faded colors should no longer be visible.
Follow steps 1 and 2 if you do not have a disk for the monitor.

I can't seem to get accurate color, and I've tried a bunch of different custom color and contrast options... what should I do? (There is a sort of sepia tint to the screen)

Try adjusting the Screen voltage. Easiest method I know of: remove rear cover, locate the FBT (has a large red wire running from it that attaches to the back of the tube). You will see 2 or 3 adjustment knobs on it the should be labeled if you look close (screen is normally on the bottom). Turn the TV to a black screen (often an empty input works well). Slowly adjust the screen voltage knob (small screwdriver required) Clockwise, until you see some beam trace lines on the screen. Now, begin slowly turning it Counter Clockwise until the lines are gone and the screen just turns black again. Press the menu button and use the on screen menu and the top knob(s) on the FBT to fine tune the focus. Leave the cover off for the moment and see if your color is better. Repeat the adjustment if needed. If this does not help your situation, you may have something else going on... let me know.

Fix a color problem

What you want to do is degauss the tube.
I do not believe a supplier will sell a CRT to anyone thats not a TV Tech. Safety/liability issues. The CRT is vacuum sealed and will implode if broken and the tv has 25000 volts even after unplugged for several days !!!
A CRT may cost as much as a new tv.

Several methods some people have found useful are;

Soldering Gun Method (NOT soldering iron)

1. Hold the soldering gun to that the rear of the case is toward the screen (the tip is facing away from the screen at a 90 degree angle) A magnetic field is generated by the transformer in the handle.
2. Place the gun in the center of the screen and turn it on, keeping it near but not touching the screen (to prevent scratching)
3. Slowly move it to the top edge (or any edge), then slowly around the outer part of the screen (but still in front of the glass) until you return to the top (or the edge you moved out to), again slowly return the gun to the center of the screen.
4. Keeping the gun on, slowly pull it straight away from the crt until there is no more distortion visible (usually 3-4 feet), then turn the gun off.

Rigged Drill Method ( parts can fly off so take care)

1. Get a magnet and tape it to the end of a high RPM drill and make sure it is held in place very tightly, use Duct or packing tape
2. Hold the rigged drill next to the spot to be fixed, make sure it is about 1-2 inches away from the screen
3. Now pull the trigger an you'll see the screen blur fast, this is normal so do not worry
4. Whilst the drill is running, slowly pull away from the screen and you may see it is fixed
5. This process may need to be repeated due to magnet strength and drill speed but it will work
6. Due to physics the fast, random turning of the magnet/s will fix the screen's colors

Setting color and focus inside case

The only way to do that is by eye. To Adjust the screen controls the best thing to do is turn them all down then slowly adjust one up until you get retrace lines (arched lines across the tv) then turn it down until the lines re not visible then go about 1/4 turn more, repeat this for the 2 remaining colors, after that its just done to eye for the best color. if you are still having trouble getting the color right you can go in the menu to the video settings and turn the color all the way down then you will have a black and white picture and you can adjust for a perfect black and white picture then turn the color back up in the menu.
As for the focus controls its best done by covering 2 of the tubes so you only have one color on the screen then adjusting to the best looking focus for that color. then repeat this for the other 2 tubes.
If you need more help or clarification please let me know

Squares visible in bright colors

Turn down the contrast to about 55-65% of maximum. Also turn down sharpness to about 10-20% of maximum.

If ther is a Contrast Plus option, or digital contrast, turn to minimum or off. (Dependant on TV)

This is a common side effect with digital television.
