If it does not say digital on the scanner the answer is no. If it does, most likely it is a trunking system and will require programming using software and a computer.

Jim Not sure if my scanner and yours are exactly the same, but find your specified bank and press MAN, then PGM, and then enter your frequency. For talgroups (digital), press MAN, then PGM, then TRUNK, then enter your talkgroup ID number. Hope this helps...

How do i program realistic pro-59 scanner

http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/8567.htm

don't know what you will pickup. Nearly all law enforcement, ems, fire have gone to digital trunked systems that are encoded. The above link has a link to the operating manual. You will need to know the frequency of whatever you are wanting to listen to.

Have a pro 2020 realistic scanner have frequencies but they don`t seem to work. Can you please help?

See: http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc45/45530.htm

For a detailed "How To"

You may have frequencies that are no longer in use as most police, fire, and military have switched to digital radio which is not available on a scanner.
