It could be your switch but before you go and buy a new switch check the fuses you might get lucky and that's all it is if all your fuses are good check the connections if all that is fine then you more then likely need a switch

SOURCE: INOP low beam and high beams

The problem is the headlight switch itself - it's one of the most common failures on these cars. The part, brand-new, is about $158 from ECSTuning.com. Replacing it involves removing the airbag and steering wheel - not difficult but a little nerve-wracking due to the power of the airbag.

If this is something you want to tackle on your own, reply back here and I can give you a step-by-step on doing the work yourself. Or you can go to a shop/dealer and just have them do it. They'll probably charge you at least two hours' labor, even though it's a 40 minute job. Let me know what you would like to do.

I know this is not your problem, but my low beam stopped working, both bulbs failed, no burn marks or broken element. Just had to tell someone

SOURCE: low beams dont work, only high beams do. 02 tacoma

If there is power there, then it has to be the bulbs. The trouble that most people have is, they don't see how both bulbs could burn out at once... and they're right. They don't. But you see vehicles with one headlight all the time. They don't know it unless you tell them or they happen to see it themselves. Then the second light burns out, and they think it's a major catastrophe, when in fact, it's just bulbs. The high beam still works because the bulb is double filament. The only other thing it can be is the dimmer switch, and since you switched it to high, it appears to be working. However, if it's not bulbs, it still could be the switch.

sounds like the problem is the dimmer switch, get a price on the dimmer switch. If you have to, get one at a junk yard . It's cheaper.

High beam and low beam not working together.

I think you just need new bulbs in both sides. The High and low beam are in one bulb.

CHANGED HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON 2002 JEEP LIBERTY ONLY HIGH BEAM LIGHT COME ON

Try flicking the mulit-function switch high beam on and off. There has been known problems with this switch, but mostly the first place to start is with some new light bulbs.
Or possibly your low beam filaments are burnt out. You have to replace the bulbs. Each bulb has a lowbeam and a high beam filament.

Chevy Venture 99 low beams don't work but high beams always working

I would start with checking the headlight bulbs (slim to none possibility but starting point) next go to the headlight switch.

The low beam doesn't change to high beam! I changed the lights bulbs and checked all fuses but there is nothing wrong with them! As I heard from a electrician, its somehow related to a switch but I dont...

depending on the make and model the dimer switch is part of the multifunction switch. on Chevy's you would pull the turn signal switch to the steering wheel.

Low Beam headlights not working

The daytime running lights run the high beam bulbs at low voltage so it sounds like you need to put the relays back where they were and either replace the low beam bulbs or repair the wiring to them. Also the relay you removed could be defective.

GMC truck light issue: My high beam / low beam switch is built into my blinker. To replace it costs hundreds. Currently, my lights are stuck on high beam. I would like to put them on low beam permanently...

well as a tech i dont recomend it but all you got to do is swap the wires on the headlamps at the bulb you will see 3 wires one is a ground the other feeds low beam the other high beam . take a test light and find the one thats hot and cut it and connect it to the other blade , leave only one wire on the low beam terminal so you dont short it out .
