Select timer and set the time for recording!

Testimonial: "A misunderstanding here. I'm not trying to record, and I can't find a timer on the receiver. What I'm trying to do is to PLAY VCRs, not record them. Thanks for responding. BW Rob"

PS The VCR I'm using is functioning perfectly, but the receiver just gives me "no signal".

How have you connected the VCR to the Receiver? What cables are you using? If it is a scart lead then select scart on the AV side of receiver!

How to record on a SOny SLV-N77 with a cable box

Hello
If the cable box you uses has audio video OUT sockets, then you can connect that sockets to the audion video IN to the VCR and can record the signals which you want. If it has no such audio video OUT with it, it will be very difficult to record programmes. But there is an other possibility; It is, if your TV has an AOUDIO VIDEO OUT sockets with it, you cn connect that to the AUDIO VIDEO IN to the VCR and can record the programmes. But in this case, you must switch ON all the devices, that is, Cabel box, Tv and VCR. OK.

I have an Alba 32880hdf freeview tv. I cannot record freeview programmes to my panasonic NV-FJ 780 vcr which has 2 scart sockets. I have no problem recording the teresteral channels. Can you help pls

Hi Victor,

You can't record the Freeview channels from the TV. It doesn't work that way. The reason you can still record terrestrial channels is because the VCR is still connected to your roof aerial with a co-axial cable and the VCR has its own built-in analogue tuner for recording terrestrial TV programmes.

To record the digital Freeview channels, you will either need to connect a separate Freeview set-top box to the VCR, or buy a VCR which has a built-in digital (DVB-T) tuner.

The VCR does not record programmes from the TV. It needs to be connected directly to the signal source, i.e. your aerial.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know.

Regards,
BElectric

Can the LG 990W VHS VCR receive digital TV signal

VCR is analogue, However you can still use it to record digital programmes when connected via a digital set top box. You can only record the channel you have selected on the screen. In other words, you cannot record a channel programme while watching another channel. I use mine on a second TV and when recorded I take the tape out and put it into my main TV for viewing at a later date. I don't watch too much TV so it works fine for me for the odd programme.

I have a Sony SLV-SE240 VHS. I am currently able to record TV programmes in mono but not in stereo. How do I arrange it so that I can record programmes in stereo?

Look around the menus on the VCR and see if you can find "sound/audio" or something like it. Make certain it says NIACAM, that should solve the problem.

Need to retune Sanyo VCR VHR-610.

On the Sanyo VHR-610 you start the TV auto tune by holding down both the CHANNEL ( +, - ) buttons on the VCR simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.
The TV stations in your area will be automatically preset in order starting from programme position number "01"

When all available stations have been preset, the function will stop and the TV station preset to programme position number "01" will be tuned on your TV screen.

In other words after holding down the two buttons, leave it alone for awhile (takes some time) till it ends back at 01.

Cheers
