It seems that recovery was not successful, it may be due to some data error or unsufficient power during the operation due to which the recovery process was not successful or incomplete.
Visit service center or a professional to get it reloaded with its operating system.
Your laptop normally comes with a 'bootable' recovery media (CD/DVD) for exactly the reason you mentionned of corrupted Operating system.
In addition, original Windows Operating System Installation Disks are also normally bootable and can also be used to recover from corrupted installations.
Please keep in mind that when you switch Operating Systems, you need to have, on hand, the correct O/S Drivers for your specific device.
Do not press on F8. What you need to do is to do a start up repair. Select the option to repair the operating system. Then it will load some files. JUst wait for it to complete the loading process or the repair. It will tell if the repair is successful or not. If it doesn't fix the problem, then, you need to install the operating system to your computer. But, remember that operating system re-installation will return your computer to scratch. It will erase everything including the files and programs that you have added in your computer. But, if you don't have anything to lose then do the operating system reisntallation.
You need to restart the computer and start tapping F11 key when you restart the computer, we will be directed to recovery manager. We need to reset it back to factory settings as the factory restore was not completed properly. You will reach a screen which will say " Welcome to recovery manager".
Click on Advance Options and select System Recovery (This will erase all the data and will reinstall the Operating System and the Softwares/Drivers which came with the PC when you bought it).
Click on next after selecting system recovery, select NO when it asks you to backup the data. and click on next. You will reach a screen which will say "Re formating your Hard drive partition". It will take 30-40 mins (minimum) and will prompt a message. Recovery has been successfully completed. Click on Finish and follow the on screen instruction and you will reach the desktop screen in 15mins and PC will work absolutelly fine.
in a desktop pc you can open up the case and locate the internal battery and just pull it out for about a minute...then reinsert it. do not turn on pc at the same time.. or you could move the jumper pin over 1 pin, boot the computer, it might say something, shut down pc then change jumper pin back to original spot. reboot pc...cmos will be reset. as for a laptop....i couldnt tell you as i've not had the pleasure of trying it out....
