    I wish it was as simple as fixing it yourself but my thoughts are that it may take a qualified technician to do this. It could also be as simple as a loose cable inside the TV yet if its been sitting in one place all the time then that's questionable? My thoughts is that something has failed 'a component or Integrated Circuit! See if you can find a local Repair shop and see if they may have some other repair/fix suggestions.

Can you try and see if it is your source that has the lines or the actuall TV that has the horizontal lines.
What is your source? Direct TV, Cable TV or even off air Digital TV.
If you remove your source do you still get the horizontal lines? If you do then what colors are they? Seems if when you remove your source input and you still have these H-lines then you have issues with your individual LCD palets. Especially if they are just Green, Red or Blue?

    I have cable with a DVR and usually when i turn off the DVR the TV is blank but now iwith the TV on alone it does have red, blue and green lines through it. Can you help me in fixing the problem? I am not a repair person but a quick study and can follow directions well. If it is a part needed I can and will replace it myself if I know what it is. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Good Day, LDS also;
You may have a poor seated cable connector. Unplug TV from A/C, remove back look for a large black connector. It connects between the Main Digital Module and the Drive PWB. Re-insert both ends several times to make better contact, use contact cleaner if have but not always needed. Good Luck, big IRISH.

One day I turned on my tv and white line appeared down the middle and won't go away

If your tv is under warranty, just send it to them for fix, otherwise you need to get into the "debug" or "maintanence" menu of the tv. Google the model number of the tv and things like "debug menu", "hidden menu" or "change horizontal scanning".

Your horizontal scanning option is set too far to the right of left.

So I'v had my 47LG60 for a while now and it started getting these green static lines going horizontally. What kind of problem is this and is there a way I can get it fixed?

This sounds like a faulty panel. A quick way to test this is to hit your TV's menu button. If the lines go over the menu the panel is faulty. If the lines are hidden by the menu then the signal is transmitting those lines and you will have to talk to your signal provider. If it is a faulty panel you should call your TV company. Usually faulty panels are automatic replacements if you are still within warranty.

My flat screen tv has different colored horizontal hold lines across my screen. Where is the button for horizontal hold?

Those colored lines are a bad panel. Is no button to make them go away. The only fix is to replace your panel. Would be more cost effective to replace the TV.

Faint horizontal lines in picture

This is usually caused by a problem in the Horizontal Output section, around the Horizontal Output transformer usually a capacitor or diode going or gone faulty... the line you see are the Horizontal "Retrace" lines that are useually "Hidden" when the circuit is OK..
