Hello Donna;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The critical clearance, especially with under the counter units is in the back. You need extra space between the back wall and the heat coming off the compressor. I like to see 3" minimum. The more the better. If you are not getting sufficient air flow in the back then, your cooling condenser coil fan will constantly run in a effort to dissipate the heat.
Most manufactures recommend 1-1/4" minimum on the sides.

petrol tappet clearance on petrol engines run around .010" hot inlet and .012" hot exhaust ( .009" and .011" would be minimum )
setting to no clearance will hold both valves off the seats and make starting and running difficult
as to splicing wires , you will need a chematics to get it correct
generally the practice is red is active and black is neutral with green as ground /earth
go google and type in wiring schematics for ( make and model of unit ) and see if there is a pdf version to down load

The Best Place to Put Your Surround Sound Speakers

If you can’t feel the vibrations everywhere—in your cheeks, ears, toes—you’re not getting the most from your surround sound system. One easy way to improve surround sound quality is to focus on speaker placement. Crutchfieldadvisor.com has a detailed tutorial, offering such tips as:
  • Place your center channel speaker directly above your TV—centered if possible. Align the front edge with the front edge of your TV screen to reduce distortion caused by sound reflecting and diffracting off the TV’s cabinet.
  • Position your front left and right speakers in front, and at equidistant points to the left and right, of your primary listening spot. Your front speakers should be at a 22°–30° angle with respect to your television.
  • The tweeters should be at ear level when you’re seated.
  • Position surround sound speakers so that they’re ear-level when you’re standing.

How do i take out whirlpool microwave

I presume it is mounted above the stove? Unplug the unit inside the cabinet above. There are 2 large screws inside the cabinet directly above the appliance that hold it to the cabinet. After those are removed there is a bracket that is mounted to the wall behind the microwave. The bracket is a long edge that fits into cut outs in the rear-bottom of the microwave. To remove: tip the front of the unit down an inch or two. This will give you a little bit of clearance to lift the back of the unit up and off the bracket. It's now free feed the cord out as you drop it down.

Freezer not Freezing and Refrigerator not cold enough

Good Afternoon Brian - Being that you have a top mount, the vent in the freezer is what circulates air down to the Fresh Food section, making it cool. Also keep in mind that if the garage is above 110 degrees, your refrigerator will have difficulties performing optimally due to un-circulating air. You can purchase the garage kit by going to the manufacturer website and clicking on "Filters and Accessories". Alternatively, you may be able to purchase this kit from the dealer where you purchased your appliance. Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:

1. First check clearances around your refrigerator. There must be adequate space around a refrigerator with a static condenser so that air can circulate properly. Proper clearances include 1" at the back and 3" on top of the refrigerator.

2. Examine your doors. If the doors have been opened too often or for too long, this may have allowed warm air to enter the refrigerator. Make sure to shut the door completely and be sure not to keep the door open for too long. Even leaving a door slightly open can allow too much warm air intake. Make sure refrigerator is level and keep food and containers from blocking the door closing.

3. Check the door seal. You do this by placing a dollar bill between the body of the refrigerator or freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet, double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything that may be stopping it from closing. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket. (Most appliance owners can easily do this without any tools or sealant.)

4. Check to see if the condenser is dirty. A dirty condenser cannot release heat efficiently into the surrounding air. Cleaning the condenser may be necessary, more if you have animals in the house. If you have condenser coils, they should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. The condenser coils should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust.

5. Check for any obstructions to the vent to ensure proper air flow. If the vent is blocked, the air in the refrigerator will not get cool.

6. Double check the freezer control. If the freezer control is set too warm, set freezer control to a colder setting and allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.

If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website.

UniFlame grill not burning correctly. What do I need to replace?

Hi este3banjpere
Check your gas regulator, it could be faulty
*************************************************
Gas regulators are notorious for doing just what yours is doing.
After sitting in the same position for a length of time they freeze in that position, then along comes a grain of sand, or other debris and blocks the gas flow.
Remove the regulator if possible, if not try it in place with the tank removed.
Get a plastic headed hammer and gently but firmly tap on the regulator, your trying to free up the diaghram inside.
After tapping and freeing the regulator diaphram reinstall and you will be good to go.
If this does not work, the replace the regulator as it is defective.
Some regulators are ajustable, if you have one of those then try to adjust the regulator, you will see a cap on top of the regulator, that is where the adjustment screw is located.
Please take time to rate me

I cannot get sound from Insignia Speaker ND-POS20?

Speaker Placement Before shopping for speakers, try to imagine where you're going to put them in your room. Speakers can be placed on floor stands, hung on wall brackets, or placed on furniture. Subwoofers typically sound best in room corners or near the left- or right-front speakers.
The front three--left, center, and right--speakers usually sound best when positioned with their tweeters elevated to the same height as a seated listener's ears. In any case, try to keep the center speaker near the same height as the left and right speakers.
You can place speakers on shelves or on/in a low cabinet or entertainment center. Some speakers are better suited to this arrangement than others. "Acoustic suspension" sealed satellites are the most appropriate. Next best are ported speakers--as long as the ports are located on the front of the cabinet. However, speakers with rear-mounted ports won't perform at their peak when placed inside a piece of furniture.
As for the rear-channel surround speakers, they usually sound best when positioned three or more feet higher than the front speakers. However, high-fidelity DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD music will sound best when surround speakers are placed at the same height (ear level) as the front speakers.

17 KW Kohler will start and idle but will not step up to proper RPM to run the generator. Is it common for NO gas (Propane) pressure to pass through the regulator when the engine is trying to start. Or...

i think the propane regulator is controlled by engine vacuum pressure in a lot of gensets. when was the last time your valve clearances were checked? this is just a thought because if the valves are too tight it may not make the vacuum needed to open the regulator. not sure but its easy to check.
