Question about HANNA instruments : HI83099 - Bench Meter

1 Answer

How come i get incorrect readings with HI83099?

When i analyze for a parameter e.g nitrate using a sample with a known concentration, the instrument does not give the correct reading (the reading does not match the known concentration).

Does the 10,000 ppm limit apply to each sample that I use in a treatability study?

Yes, the limit applies to each individual sample that you use. No single sample may exceed a concentration of 10,000 ppm PCBs.

Must I assume that a transformer has a PCB concentration of 500 ppm only if both the date of manufacture and the type of fluid are unknown?

Yes. You must characterize a natural gas pipeline system by analyzing
organic liquids collected at the condensate collection points (see §761.60(b)(5)(iii)). If there are no liquids present you must wipe sample in accordance with Subpart M, §761.250(a)(2). Select the proper sampling position along the pipe by following the directions in §761.247 (c) and (d). Then, according to §761.247(c)(3)(iii), if the entire population of pipe to be wipe sampled is porous and there are no non-porous surfaces available, assume that the pipe contains PCBs >50 ppm but <500 ppm and is PCB-Contaminated. Subsequently, an appropriate provision in §761.60(b)(5)(i) must be used to abandon the pipe. If you do not want to assume that the pipe is PCB-Contaminated, then you may apply for an alternate sampling plan under §761.61(c).

Im trying to connect my mpc 2500 with pro tools 8. im using an mbox 2 pro as my interface. I can get pro tools and the mpc to sync...but i cant seem to understand why i cant hear any of my samples from the...

Check if the Mbox2 has an echo setting that echos the audio from its input. If you want the audio to loop through the PC then it will have to echo there instead. Check that in "Sound and devices" of the PC are all set to transfer via the MBox for voice and playback instead of the internal PC audio system.

Numbers jump all over the place. Replaced battery. No change. Numbers continue to jump...never gives a weight.

I found that one of four feet of scales had the sensor short-circuiting. After padding it with two pencils so that it never gets pressed i get steady readings of right weight from three remaining (and no battery warning and rolling counter)

How does music affect the human mind?

Music has a positive effect on the concentration level of the listeners. It is also found to improve one’s memory. Research has found that the silence between two musical notes triggers the brain cells and neurons, which are responsible for the development of sharp memory. Flute music, and instruments like santoor and sarod are recommended for the enhancement of concentration and memory. Strong beats cause the brain waves to resonate in synch with the beat bringing about higher levels of concentration and alertness.

Music plays a vital role in enhancing creativity. Music has a positive impact on the right side of the brain. Music triggers the brain center, which deal with the development of creativity. Certain ragas are known to activate all the chakras of the listener’s body, thus benefiting him/her in the performance of other creative tasks.

Music is found to give students the capacity to trust themselves. It provides them with an internal discipline. Rhythm is known to help the students learn math. Music stimulates the brain centers that deal with thinking, analyzing and planning, thus enhancing one’s organizational skills.

Music helps secrete endorphins that help in speeding the process of healing. It acts as an effective distraction from pain and suffering. While diverting one's mind away from pain, it also helps bring about certain chemical processes in the brain that aid healing. After undergoing surgery, patients may be advised to undergo a music therapy. Listening to melodious, comforting music is sure to have a positive effect on the physical and mental well-being of patients.

I have a stream of gases with known concentration and known flow rate to be capture in bottle of known volume. How can i have a guess calculations about the amount/volume of sample captured? khalil Ahmad

Your captured sample will be flow rate x time. Your bottle size is the upper limit of the amount you can capture (any more than that amount and the bottle will explode and you won't capture anything). You must allow for reduced flow rate as the pressure rises in the bottle.
