Printer Driver for Window XP

I think, there is no VISTA drivers for this device. only for XP and lower versions of windows.

Are you trying to install the Lexmark X4550 to your Mac computer? What is the exact OS of your Mac (i.e 10.3.x; 10.4.x or 10.5.x)?

You have to make sure that the pinter is compatible with the OS that you have.

I don't have a doubt with the printer since you mentioned that it worked with XP. To install the printer to your Mac, please follow the steps below:

If your printer does not appear in the Printer pop-up menu, find and install the appropriate driver. Check any CD-ROM discs included with the printer, or the website of your printer's manufacturer. Only users with an administrator account can install software.

Tip: You can also open the Printer List window from Printer Center (Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier) or the Printer Setup Utility (Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, or later).

Check the Printer menu again after installing the software. If the printer does not appear, you may need to do this:

1. Make sure the printer is connected to your computer, plugged in, and turned on.
2. For Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier, from the Printer menu in the print dialog choose Edit Printer List. The Printer List window appears.
3. For Mac OS X 10.3 or later, choose Show Printer List from the View menu. The Printer List window appears.
4. Click the Add Printer button.
5. Choose USB from the first pop-up menu.
6. Select your printer from the list.
7. Click Add.
8. Close the Printer List window.

You will need to select OS sys, Language etc

This driver is provided by Microsoft and is included with the Windows XP os.

Installation instructions:
1: Click START, then click on PRINTERS & FAXES
2: Click on ADD A PRINTER
3: At Welcome screen click NEXT
4: Select LOCAL PRINTER (if printer is attached directly to computer) and click NEXT
5: Choose LPT1 (in most situations) or a different port if not LPT1 then click NEXT
6: Select Apollo in left window
7: Select Apollo P-1200 in right window
8: Click NEXT
9: Type name for printer or accept default name
10: Click No to "Do you want to print test page".
11: Click FINISH
12: Test printer by sending a print job to printer.

If you experience problems after installing this driver, please consultthe printer user manual for proper lpt bios settings. eg: spp, ecp,etc. and change the lpt pc bios settings to match manufacturer'ssuggested settings. afaik, polaroid did not provide drivers beyond windows 98. I think you may need to upgrade your printer too. I expect the modern printers are far better, in any case.
