Took me a while to figure mine out.... Power switch must be on to charge. Plug into any Mini-USB charger, let the hourglass come and go. Wait for the greenish looking screen, and turd on the switch. You will then see the little battery in the bottom right corner start filling up with grey color. Wait about an hour and your battery will be back to full.
IF the switch is OFF, the player will work when pluged in, but will NOT charge.
