There is no damage to the door, the seal or the latches.
Thank you for your inquiry, Jessica Hall!
From my understanding you are having an issue with your Frigidaire range door not closing. If the door is not making a proper seal, your range will not operate appropriately. It could be a potential issue with your hinges or door latch. I would recommend you reaching out to a professional technician. He or she will be able to come out and proper assess the range to assure that the proper parts are being replaced. I hope this information is beneficial. -Matt

SOURCE: Oven door hinge adjustment...?
Regarding the oven door not closing all the way and dropping suddernly to the floor, I called a local authorized service company and asked if there was a door spring (no). So the recommended solution is to have the hinges replaced. However, since the oven door didn't really hold its open position from the beginning, when it was brand new back in 01, I'm going to see if a new Viking oven has the same defect as ours. Then, it would seem like a good idea to take a chance on having it repaired.
Is replacing a set of oven door hinges something a person with reasonable mechanical aptitude can do?
SOURCE: Range door will not seal properly.
Place a hammer handle between the door and the frame at the hinges..
Push on the door, carefully.
This usually works to re-seat the door hinges.
SOURCE: Dacor oven door does not close completely
Place a hammer handle between the hinge and the door frame. Exert moderate pressure to close the door. It should spring back to normal position. Do both sides.
