I tried to reinstall my windows, and all worked fine until a window appeared saying "to improve the appearance of visual elements, windows will automatically adjust your screen resolution" and it...

As you turn on yur PC hold down the F8 key. The advance Options Menu will come up. Highlight "Safe Mode" and press Enter. You PC will load with a minimal set of drivers to allow you correct problems such as yours.

Rigt click anywhere on the blank desktop screen and then click on Properties. A display properties dialog box will open. Next click on Settings and set your screen resolution to 800 X 600. Then click on Apply and OK.

Restart your computer in the normal manner. Your system should now be working. If your nonitor Icons are too large, go back into display properties and increase your screen resolution settings.

If I leave my computer unattended for maybe 15 min. this monitor turns itself off. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks, brumeister

Screen savers can help protect your monitor from wear by showing a constantly changing display when your computer is not being used. Screen savers can be simple, like the Blank screen saver that turns off your monitor to save energy. To change your screen saver 1. Right-click your desktop, and then click Properties.
2. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Screen Saver tab.
3. Click the Screen saver drop-down box, and then click a screen saver.
4. Click the Preview button to see how the screen saver will appear on your monitor.
5. Move your mouse or press a key to return to the Display Properties dialog box. To try a different screen saver, return to step 3. 6. Click the Settings button to change the standard behavior of the screen saver you selected. (Each screen saver has its own settings dialog box.) Then, click OK.
7. In the Wait box, type the number of minutes the computer should wait to start the screen saver after you last touched the keyboard or mouse.
8. If you are the only person who uses your computer and you are not concerned about security, clear the On resume, display Welcome screen check box. Otherwise, leave this check box selected. Note: If your computer is joined to an Active Directory, the Fast Users Switching feature will be disabled. This is a common change made to computers used for business, and it happens automatically when a computer joins an Active Directory domain. However, disabling the Fast User Switching feature is not the default setting. Almost all computers in home environments will have Fast User Switching enabled. When Fast User Switching is enabled, you'll see the On resume, display Welcome screen check box. If you're part of a domain, you'll see the On resume, password protect check box.
9. Click OK.

My laptop is really slow

It could be due to clogged Registry. Use a good registry cleaner to do that. Even I had the same prob. my laptop used to take 20 mins to boot. After cleaning the registry it runs now.

This is a simple work around, but it worked for me. Create a new user and make that account the Administrator. Log in with the new account an then run Adobe and click Accept. Some reason this worked for me. Good Luck.

Dell blank page keeps appearing how can I correct

Sounds like your screen saver is set to a very short period, like 1 minute or less.

Try this, Right-Click on the Desktop Wallpaper (behind the icon on the desktop, NOT on an icon), then select Properties.

When that dialog window opens, Left Click on the Screen Saver tab at the top of the window.
This will select that page of options.

On the Screen Saver page, about in the middle of the page you should see

Wait: (and a box with a number in it) minutes (check box) On resume, password protect.

I suspect that the number in the box is small, like 1 or 2, try changing this to something like 15 minutes.

Now this solution assumes your on Windows XP, this is done slightly different on Vista, please inform me if this doesnt help you!

Hope this helps you, Good Luck :)

Digital arts and craft studio on screen display

hello all....seems to be a video problem. First, check to see if you have a LEAST 64mb of RAM. If so, do the following:

1. Bring the "Display Properties" dialog window (right-click on the desktop, click on Properties)
2. Click on the "Settings" tab. (make sure your screen resolution is set to 1024 by 768, and the color quality is 32 bits)
3. Click on the "Advance" button (this will bring a new dialog box)

On the newly opened dialog box:
4. Click on the "Troubleshoot" tab
5. Set the "Hardware acceleration" to "Full" (drag the slider all the way to where it says "Full")
6. Click "Apply", then "Ok" (this will close the dialog box)
7. Close the "Display Properties" dialog window by clicking on the OK button.

Try turning the toy ON now. I hope this helps.
Maybe make a new login for the child, so it doesn't mess up your present video card settings.
