Hi,

From all indications, most of your devices are controlled by a common module. This would be similar to the engine management computer but has the responsibility for all those mentioned and then some. if you would notice, most if not all are non essential to the engine's performance. Initial suspect would be such a module and/or the sensors, connectors to it. Being such as multi input and multi output, it is perhaps to your advantage to seek the services of a qualified professional. If you are considering a DIY (do-it-yourself), then access to a full service manual would make things doable if not easier.

Often this control module would be under the dash or on any of the kick panels.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Open Hood warning, and wiper blades.

There is a switch on your hood latch. They get damaged sometimes when the hood opens and closes. look down on the latch and you will see the sensor with an electrical plug. There are two 10mm bolts holding the latch in. remove them and the sensor is in the latch.

Pull the fuses and check the socket for power on the things that don't work. If there is no power at the fuse box there is a good change the stater igintion switch is toast. it is located on top of the steering colunm under the dash.usally less then 20 bucks All that you mentioned get power from this switch that goes to the fuse panel when you turn the key on

02 thunderbird, car does strange things the wipers won't work, the drivers power window, horn, instrument cluster lights, and the door chime and drivers door indicator stays on

Since most are unrelated. Check the fuse for the wipers, replace the motor. Replace the regulator for the window, Check the fuse for the horn, most likely it is the steering wheel button bad, if you have lights for the radio and A/C, pull the IP and check wiring and plugs for corrosion. Replace the door latch and the light and chime will stop.

All the thing's your having problems with are controlled by the computer's an communication network . (FEM) - front electronic module , insturment cluster , (REM) - rear electronic module. etc... It's probably a loose ground connection somewhere . The headlamp switch is a electronic input to the insturment cluster , the insturment cluster is hooked to the SCP - serial data network . The insturment cluster electronic's (computer ) microprocessor sends a message to the (FEM) to turn on light's , the front electronic module will then suppy a ground to the headlamps circuit turnning on the headlamps. Samething for the wipers an turn signals an horn too .
010 Ford SCP Communications
From looking at a wiring diagram i would look at ground connection G-304 . Do you know what a body ground is ?
This ground is located How to troubleshoot headlights intermittently on and off with headlights...

1down vote Basically your headlamps are controlled by a computer. The Front Electronic Module (FEM) to be exact. The FEM grounds the headlamps when it wants to turn them on. This system was an early Multiplex design that reduced wire and total circuits where the modules communicate on a single serial line, now referred to as the CAN Bus (Controller Area Network). You will likely need a scan tool to diagnosis the car, and not a cheap one, but a professional model. You many even need a factory scan tool, though I doubt if for a Ford. Outside of security theft deterrent systems they allow the aftermarket professional scan tools to access their systems.
So where do you go from here? With or without a scan tool, the grounds are a good place to start.
G303 are the main ground for the FEM.
G304 is connected via C179 (C means connector) and through S139 (S means splice)
G304 is located behind the LH cowl panel C179 is located behind the LH side of the instrument panel S139 Dash panel to headlamp junction, near T/O to C192 Front Electronic Module (FEM)
You can see the FEM, G304, and C179 in the picture below. Outside of checking the connections and wiring there is not much you can do without a scan tool.

No brake light,no turn signals , no flasher lights...I have checked fuses for each and they are OK. Also all bulbs are OK. Any suggestions.

Hi!!
Your multifunction switch may be defective. Replace it. $39.99 at AutoZone
  • Combination switches operate wipers, directionals, horn, headlights and dimmers.
  • When not replaced, wipers, directionals, horn, headlights and dimmer, independently or as a group, will not function or turn off potentially causing safety issues.
