What is the cubic feet needed to build box for audioban 12

You can use this speaker in either a ported or sealed box. A sealed box would be smaller, (sealed box volume: 0.5 to 1.25 cubic feet) the larger the box the more base you will get. With a sealed box your amp has to work double hard as it would in a ported box ( 1.3 to 3.2 cubic feet) You will get close to double the volume in a ported box. Tuning a ported box with the size and length of the port will determine the hertz the speaker will play at.

I HAVE A PORTED BOX FOR MY MTX 9500 AND DOES NOT SOUND GOOD OUTSIDE THE CAR.ITS IN A PORTED BOX. DO YOU THINK A SEALED BOX WOULD BE BETTER

In order to sound good, there are a lot of specifications that have to be considered when getting a speaker enclosure. You have to know the size, depth, displacement, SPL and other factors on the speaker, then you have to match it to the height, width, depth and porting of the box. So if this was not done, you will have muddy sounding audio.

How can I install a speaker/sub into the backseat of my 1993 gmc sierra?

nt Best choice to go with would be 1 or more shallow mount 10" or 12" depending on sound. 6" deep box to bound to bottom of seat.
If use of 10" subs use hole 15" of width provieded off set your subs 3" up from the center of box allowing 3+ " for a lengh size slot port (allowing for more air and clearer sound since it under the seat) this will also allow you to lay seat down and get full use.

How much air space is need for a sealed encloser

are you sharing the air space or building a divider to give each driver its own air space

these speakers or not made for low end bass these woofer are meant for mid bass high bass
  • 6.5'' High Power Subwoofer
  • Non-Press paper Cone
  • Specially Treated Foam Edge Suspension
  • 1.5'' High Temperature Aluminum Voice Coil
  • Magnet Weight: 40 Oz
  • Impedance: 4 Ohm
  • Fs: 80Hz, Qms: 4.05, Qes: 1.3, Qts: 1.2, SPL: 87(dB), Vas: 6.8(Cuft)
  • Mounting Depth: 3"
  • Rubber magnet Boot Cover fers are
  • there is only 3 " of mounting depth needed i would build you door pannel out fiberglass a door pod and mount them on the door if you have a factory speaker there . then run to the amp and turn the x-over on to high pass and them use them as a mid bass driver up front for the front sound stage for get about them as a subwoofer get the lanzar 10's or 12's

i mounted a set of ma audio 8" subs on my 03 s-10 door the speaker fit in the 6.5 location had to trime the door metal and space them out a little cause the 4.75 mounting depth.it worked and then i ran the them in 2 ohm stereo to my 4 channel amp and used the high pass crossover to run them as a mid bass driver works great for me . ma audio 500 watt dual 4 ohms 8" subs each i had 250watts to each sub.

you could build a small enclosure just big enough to fit the 6.5 woofer you could build a dual camber enclosure like 8wx5dx8h internale air space would be 0.18

15 wx5dx8h would give you 0.347 share the air space this is internal air space

What is the volume required for a ported box?

If you take the height times the width times depth divided by 1728 will give you box volumes.
you can get a speaker book at radio shack that gives you charts as to a box with a certain amount of cubic volume it will tell you for a 2" port or a 3" port to cut to a certain length for a certain frequency.
the book is called building speaker systems
    speakers for your listening pleasure.
the number of the book radio shacks number is
    62-1087a.
    H x W x D=
    answer / 1728= cubic volume.

I NEED NEW SPEAKERS FOR MY FRONT DOORS IN MY HONDA CIVIC COUPE 1997 BUT DONT KNOW WHAT SIZE TO BUY?

Not sure if you had a sedan, hatch, or coupe but here is the info you requested. Front door speakers measure 6.5" with a top depth of 1.75" (you have no depth problems here but any larger than 1.75 and you might have to cut out the factory housing.)

If they are door or kick panel speakers, you have to remove that panel to extract the speakers. Then measure them with a ruler; better yet, make a pencil outline of them (outside rim) and also where the mounting holes are. Then, when you buy new speakers say at Best Buy or some such, you will get the proper size, mounting and DEPTH. Unless you want to build all new mounting enclosures, you have to be sure of all the size measurements so that your new speakers will fit.

Wiring them is easy. There should be instructions. Speaker wires do have a + and - side, and if you cross them, the speakers will work but won't sound as good. Also be sure you have the POWER to drive your new speakers. Buy speakers of the same "impedence", measured in ohms right on your speakers.

Also, in here you can find the 1997 Honda Civic Service Manual.

Easy job, good luck (remember rated this help).

    Box recomendations

It depends on the size of the subs- 8z 10z 12z 15z? whether or not you port the box is up to you- a ported box is generally louder than a sealed box -as you are coupling and tuning the sound from the rear of the driver with the sound generated from the front of the sub- but the box is also generally larger as well. Then aside from your preference of ported/sealed you have to account for the recommendations of the manufacturer as to whether the sub/speakers are meant to be placed in a ported or sealed enclosure. Most 10 inch subs do well in a box that yields .75 cubic feet to1.0 cubic feet.most 12z do well in 1.0 cu feet to 1.5 subic feet and 15z do well in 1.5 to 2.5 cubic feet. I have a set of 15z that require 4.25 cubic feet per sub-so its important to look into the manufacturers recommendations. The easiest box to make would be a sealed enclosure-and the sound quality generally yields a tighter more accurate bass sound along with increased power handling capability- try going to rockford fosgate .com and look into the woofer box wizard its a program that calculates air space for whatever size box you have room for-hope that helps you-good luck
