Question about KitchenAid Superba Architect KSCS25INSS Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Kkscs25fjss01 Wiring to door controlls are severed from torque of opening and closing door. This is a shit design and everyone but kitchen aid seems to think so. I need to replace the harness pt# 2187667 and need to know the steps to get the harness up to the control panel. I spliced the severed wires three times so far. This seems to be a short term fix. Thank you in advance.Steve

Re: kkscs25fjss01

You must remember whenever you splice never splice at the break. Always cut 5 to 10 inches in (if possible) then splice there. Also run a wire guard it protects the wire from breakage. Usually black electrical tape works best. Running a new harness isn't going to be easy. Most doors have what is called foamed in insulation and you will have to dig out the old foam to replace then use canned foam to refill.
