Door will not shut when upper silverware holder is in

There is an indicator light on the top left side of the door, it's on when running and flashes for about an hour when done. There should be a reflector attached to the bottom of the countertop, with double sided tape, above the light, allowing you to see the light when the door is closed. It looks like a piece of clear plastic about 2x2 inches. To turn the dishwasher off, when not in use, you need to press the off button, and press the on button when you want to use it, that's normal for your dishwasher. The door latch might need a little adjustment. On the top edge of the dishwasher, in the center there is a small metal latch sticking out. You can loosen the screws and move the latch out, just a little, tighten it up again and see if that makes it easer to latch the door. Don't move it out too much or it could start leaking from the door seals. Also make sure the door is not rubbing on the cabinetry or countertop. The bottom basket should just have tines for 2 rows of plates, you should be able to fold one side down. Silverware goes in the cutlery tray at the very top of the dishwasher.

Check that the front door magnets are still attached to the door. They can come out of their holders and this will cause the front door not to close properly. They are easy to snap back in. Squeeze the sides,then put it back in it's holder. There are 2 magnets. One on the upper corner and one on the lower corner. You must reset the power to clear this error. Also check that the door closes properly by holding the top right side shut. I have had to bend the door switch bracket out to make proper contact. Check that the cover of the duplex tray is all the way on,too. If it is loose on the lower right corner it can interfere with the front door. After checking these items,reset the power to clear code.

Open the large front door. The toner bottle is at the upper left side. Swing it out by pulling out on the left side. Slide the old toner bottle out of the gray holder. Now take the new cartridge, keeping the hole with the seal on it on top. Slide it into the holder where the old one was. There are 2 "pegs" on the bottle that will clip into a clip on either side. Once fully installed simply pull the plactic tape towards you to remove it from the bottle and swing the new toner back into place and close the front door. Thats it!
On most of the 4000/5000 models the toner instructions are on a label inside the front door.

Remove the top cover.

There will be several screws holding the top on. Remove all and slip the top cover backward to remove.

This will expose the internal system. You will see the disk inside under the laser disk reader.]

You will see a gear the drives the sliding disk holder/loader. This is the part you see come out of the door onto which you place the ****. Roll the gear with your finger and the holder will move. Keep going and the disk will come out as normal. Remove the disk and try to plug the unit in and press the close button. The unit may close as per usual. If not rotate the gear again until the holder goes full back inside. Again try to plug in and press open. It may start working. If not is had problems.

The items must be inserted face down, with the soiled side of each item facing toward the bottom of the dishwasher. Some dishwasher models feature clips, which can be used to secure lightweight items to the tines of the upper rack. The clips work like clothesline pins, and can be moved from one tine to another.

Step 3 Load the lower rack of the dishwasher with heavier items, such as plates, bowls and pans. Insert the items between the tines of the rack with the soiled side of each item facing toward the center of the dishwasher.

Step 4 Load the silverware basket. The silverware should be inserted into the basket with some items facing up and some facing down to ensure the items do not fit together, which would prevent the dishwasher from being able to clean all surfaces. Knives should be inserted blade down, so they can be inserted and removed from the dishwasher with the handle to avoid injury.

Step 5 Add detergent to the dishwasher, and then close the dishwasher's door. Note that the dishwasher has two detergent sections. One dispenser, called the main wash section, has a lid. Open the main wash section's lid by pressing down on the cover latch located next to the section. Fill the main wash section with 3 tbsp. of automatic dishwasher powdered detergent, then close the lid until it snaps into place. The other detergent section is the prewash section. It does not have a lid, because the detergent within the section empties into the dishwasher when the door is closed. Fill the prewash section with 2 tbsp. of automatic dishwasher powdered detergent. Close the dishwasher's door until it clicks into place.

Step 6 Prime the dishwasher by turning the kitchen sink's faucet on until it produces hot water. This will ensure the dishwasher has an immediate supply of hot water.

Step 7 Start the dishwasher by choosing and pressing the appropriate wash-cycle button, located on the front of the dishwasher's door. Cycle selections include "POTS --N- PANS," "HEAVY" for heavily soiled items, "NORMAL" for standard washing, "CRYSTAL/CHINA" for delicate items, "LOW ENERGY" for lightly soiled items and "RINSE ONLY" for items that will not be washed immediately.

After the fill cycle, check to make sure you have enough water in the dishwasher to wash effectively. You may need to have your fill valve replaced. You can test this by adding perhaps a liter of water to see if it makes a difference

You can usually take off the top cover of the upper hinges, loosen the hinges with a 5/16 socket and move the door around that way. If this doesn't work then the door may need to be removed and have new door cams installed on the bottom hinges.
Another way to make the door shut better is to lower the front wheels or legs so that it will tilt back slightly.

This could be the door rubbers, try boiling some water and pour it slowly over the rubber,it would turn soft and wold return to the original state.

now close the door and with a hair dryer set on hot,blow on the rubber untill it seals all over.
let the door stand close for at least 6 ours...

Hi there have you removed the fuser unit at all? if so remove it again and to the bottom left of where the fuser goes there is a black sensor make sure that is in position.

Reinstall the fuser and shut the covers. Failing this there is a push switch that is activated when the front door and left hand door is shut. Sometimes the screw holding the cover on comes loose and causes the door pin not to reach the switch. Tighten the screw it is located behind the front door in the top left hand corner.

If that does not work then the door switch will need replacing.

before you suspect the pump and motor assy, do you hang the silverware basket on the front side of the lower rack or if not did one of the holders for the rack fall off and you replaced it? I have found that id the basket is hung on the rack that tall utensils will hold the door from opening fully. when that happens water from the spray arm will not hit the soap dish and when you open the door you will see soap in it. also there is a plastic peice on the top rack if not installed the correct way it wil hold the dispensor door closed causing the soap to stay. I see this problem all the time. when in the wash cycle do you hear the water spraying around inside? If you do I would not suspect the pump and motor. And with whirlpool the pump and motor is a full assembly and it is disconected from the under side of the washer and removed from the top. also run it empty on a short wash cycle and listen for the dispensor door to pop open. make sure thats working properly to. check all that out and let me know if it helped. good luck
