We have an Evesham Computer and recently we have got a virus or bug of some sorts that is slowly taking over the computer. My nortons would not clear it and now ceases to work at all. So once again i chose to format my hard drive but this is not going to be as easy as it normally is, i have got my recovery cd ready and went in to my bios set up to change the boot sequence so the computer would boot from cd rather than the hard drive but nothing is highlighted like it usually is and so i cant change the boot sequence is there any other way round this.
Please Help
scan your system using any other antivirus than norton being faithful i did not like symantec prodocts one little bit (ghost is an exception) i reccomend you to use mcafee enterprise 8.5i
reset the bios using the jumper on the motherboard then start your computer and i reccomend you to to remove or disable boot from the hard drive and set cdrom as the first priority
and according to me recovery disk will not help much you should format your c drive and do a fresh installation of windows after installing windows do not open any disk drives before scaning the entire hard disk
before formatting copy any documents or data you have stored in c drive
I would try to reset the BIOS to factory settings (original) to see if it will allow you to choose the CD-ROM; if this doesn’t work we’ll try another solution.
