For diesel fuel to congeal it has to be poor quality with a high paraffin content close to 0 degrees c or contaminated. I would go for contaminated from a fungus growing in the fuel. Get a sample of the fuel from the tank and if it is a grey slimy mess then that will be the fungus. All diesels use a return line from the injectors that lubricates and cools the injectors.and this hot fuel creates a humid atmosphere in the tank so hat when the tank cools down the fungus grows in the condensed water. Try a wynns diesel fuel treatment product as it is pretty good at killing the fungus and cleaning the tank out.
