Question about System Power Supplies
My parents have a gateway 300x computer. i think the power supply went bad. apparently gateway no longer sells the exact power supply we need. it is a 160 watt model NPS-160DB. Is it possible to upgrade to another type of power supply? thanks!
This power supply has an odd form factor so just "any" power supply won't work.

Power supplies are easily replaced by anyone handy with a screwdriver.
You should be able to find a suitable power supply on eBay for @$20 U.S. new.
If it were me, I'd go with one in the 200 or 250 watt range.
