This power supply has an odd form factor so just "any" power supply won't work.

Power supplies are easily replaced by anyone handy with a screwdriver.
You should be able to find a suitable power supply on eBay for @$20 U.S. new.
If it were me, I'd go with one in the 200 or 250 watt range.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Replaced power supply cleaned everything

Wow, that's crazy, because I would have bet it was the power supply too. I would measure the new supply voltages, just to make sure it isn't bad too. Next, unplug all extra devices except your motherboard and hard drive. This will eliminate them from the problem, and if one of them is bad, you'll know. Hard drive is probably good, but when the computer initializes the cd, dvd drive, etc., it overloads the power supply and it shuts down, as they're designed to do. Could be a part of the motherboard, but don't think so, just doesn't sound like it. Might be monitor, notice if the computer shuts down just after it turns on. Check the speaker wires to make sure they're not shorted (if happens once in a blue moon). I don't think connecting to MSIE 8 shut it down, but that's the onery thing about computers- you just never know till you know. An afterthought, is since I guess you were having problems before (hence changing the power supply), you could have gotten infected with a bug of some kind, that left it's mark in your bios. In that case, you have to reflash your bios, or have it replaced (on older machines). If it comes to that, you might google the problem of flashing your bios on your Gateway, and see what comes up. Good luck, I had a blue screen problem once similar to this, and just scrapped the system for a new one.

Check Power Supply

Yes the orange lite usually indicates that the computer does not have enough power to start it. I dont think theres anyway around it, youll have to get a new power supply

No Lights, No Power

Hi, it sound like that your monitor is totally dead. You can also try replacing the power cable just for us to know the caused of that issue. and after replacing the power cable it only means that the power supply of that monitor is not functioning well. You can take that monitor to the nearest service center in your area or call your monitor vendor for service.
