Pioneer sdp4682k i just got a pioneer sdp4682k projection tv ,i plugged it in ,screwed in the direct tv cable into anteena a put the tv on channel 3 and got nothing but snow i went to setup and and had it to autoset all available channels,still nothing help!

Before you bought your new TV, was the cable connected to an older TV, and was it working?
When you say you screwed the cable connection to the antenna input, did the cable come directly from the wall, or did it go through a cable box first. If it came through the wall without a cable box, it's possible it's not an active cable account, and you're only getting over the air signals for your local channels (and nothing through the cable). Or, your cable signal might have been analog only, and with the transition this week to digital TV, maybe you're no longer getting the channels broadcast properly.
If you are a cable subscriber, then this problem should be reported to the cable company, and they can do further testing to see what's wrong with your signal.

In order to get a picture of what is going on you must understand what is happening. The cable box converts all channels to channel three or four depending on what it was intitially set on. That means that you have only one channel coming into the tv. So you cannot program the set. You just have to put the TV on Channel 3 or 4 and leave that alone. Do not try to program the TV. Then change the channels on the cable box. The hitch is that there are several ways to hook a cable box to your set. One is with the RF connector, which is the screw on one, into either Antenna A or B. and the other is through the AV cables which are yellow, red and white. Yellow for video, red for right audio and white for left audio. If your box is hooked to the AV input then you must use the INPUT button on the tv to select the proper AV input. If you can see the channel number as well as the volume setting when you press on the appropriate buttons on the remote, then it would seem that what happened is that your TV went into muting (video and audio). This can only be brought about if the TV is not receiving any signal from your cable or aerial. This is a built-in feature. Another possibility is that the tuner section of the TV has some issues. To determine whether cable or tuner, pls try installing a known operational VCR and play a good tape. Connect the RF OUT of the VCR to the CABLE/ANT IN of the TV. Select channel 3 or 4 and should you be able to watch the tap video, then you have just confirmed that it is your cable (or aerial). If on the other hand there is likewise no display on either 3 or 4, then you have just confirmed that somethings needs to be done internally in the tuner section.

Are the channels are above 125 ?

In menu go to cable/then press auto programming see if this fixes your set.

Honestly, There most likely right. It happens more often than you'd think. Try unplgging the brain for a minute with the power off then turn the radio back on after youv'e plugged it back in. It may just need to reinitialize but I doubt it.

The problem is not with your TV. You need a digital box to unscramble the channels.

Double check the video connection cable directly out of the SAT reciver and the video cable out from the Pioneer reciver, as there maybe an intermittant connection in them. If you replace them or sub them for known good ones, and you still have this probem, there is a switching IC inside the pioneer that has to be replaced.
