SOURCE: SHOWING E3 ON DISHWASHER

Had the same problem (apart from the code) and the answer is to stop putting plastic in the machine ! It seems the dishwashers need the heat radiated from the Ceramic plates, stell knives etc to help dry. The plastic simply absorbs some water and then your dishwahser spends most of its drying time trying to get that water out again. Also Plastic doesn't radiate any heat to help. As soon as we stopped putting plastic plates and tupperware containers in, hey presto the dishes are drying again

E3 means the base is full of water. A quick fix is to tilt the machine back for 10 mins or so but you need to find the cause of the leak and repair it

Kenwood dishwasher

You will have to remove it from its installed location. This means unhook the water supply and drain hoses. Then you pull the screws out that hold it to the counter top. Then slide the unit out until you can see the back. The rear legs usually screw in and out to raise and lower the unit.

The dishwasher still has water in it.  Lean dishwasher back at least 45 degrees and water should drain out through overflow pipe.  It could be caused by the dishwasher not being level.  Otherwise from reading reviews online it seems to be a common fault with this dishwasher and lots of people have returned and purchased different.
