How to set the timing on a 2001 kawasaki super sherpa

Yes, that is something to do with the electrics, probably ignition system somewhere. Also check plug condition and especially to see if the spark gap is too wide.

have you changed fuel ? Air filter? Fuel filter ? Spark plugs in that order.

Yes it has a main fuse, look for the starter solenoid, follow your positive battery wire from the Battery, it will hook to this solenoid or relay, this is where the main fuse is, it should have a red cover.

- sounds like it could be old fuel?
- Have you checked your air intake to ensure that the filter is clean?
-Could also be the float is sticking, have you cleaned it in awhile?

you have to completely remove the air box then you should have enough room to remove the carb
