I need instructions on how to mount the nuvi 200w to my windshield

To secure the nuvi 200w to your windshield with the included suction cup mount (pictured below),

steve_con_6.jpeg

center the GPS on the clip, and tip the bottom edge on the bracket. Push the top of the GPS against the top clip until it clicks into place. Hold the bracket and GPS near the windshield where you like it best. Note where the suction cup is on the windshield in relation to the mirror, etc. Remove the GPS from the mount's clip by pushing the top tab back from the top of the GPS.

Clean the windshield (or portion that the suction cup will be stuck against) with a paper towel or newspaper and ammonia solution like Windex, etc. Clean the suction cup with the paper towel and Windex, too.

Lift the lever at the base of the mount - is shown in the picture above - if it isn't already. With the mount oriented as shown in the picture above, press the suction cup against the windshield where desired with one hand. Hold the mount firmly against the glass and use your other hand to press the lever on the base back toward the suction cup and glass. Press until it lays flat against the base / suction cup. Plug the power cord into the GPS and reinstall the GPS in the mount clips as done earlier.

To remove from the windshield, release the GPS from the mount clips, and lift the lever away from the base / suction cup. Locate the tab that is connected to the suction cup edge near the lever. Pull on the tab away from the glass to break the suction seal and remove from the windshield.

Mounting of gps can't mount on windsheild.

Tomtom GPS devices come with a variety of windshield suction mounts. All have in common that the windshield and the suction cup both must be clean; use a mild soap dispersed in some warm water to remove any dirt. Rinse properly. Sometimes it helps to keep the cup a little moist.

Make sure the cup is not warped due to previous exposure to heat, and check for any nicks in the rubber. Small damage may easily make the mount unusable and you'd need to get a replacement.

Models with a lever mechanic: open the lever (cup becomes flat), press the cup against the windshield and while keeping pressure, close the lever. It will lift the middle of the cup away from the windshield, causing a vacuum.

Models with a ring around the cup base: Turn the ring all the way counter-clockwise (cup becomes flat), press cup against windshield and while keeping pressure, turn the ring clockwise 90 degrees. This requires some force, but in my experience these mounts stick more reliable,

Installing windshield mount

there are two pieces to the mount, the mount and the cradle..the cradle snaps on the gps and the mount slides in the groves on the back of the cradle.

to attach it to the window, lift the lever near the suction cup on the bottom of the mount..press firmly against the window, the push lever down toward the windshield to lock it.

you should remove it and reattach it every few weeks to prevent it from falling off the window and damaging the unit.

GPS is not getting power on the motorcyclen mount.

If you're sure the power cord is getting power, then the mount has likely failed. Mine has failed 3 times. Replacing the mount will fix the problem as it did on mine. If the unit is less than 1 year from purchase, Garmin will warranty replace it for free. If not, it'll cost you about $85 plus shipping to put a new one on.

Windshield Mounting Unmounting

first the round plate... that has a sticky circle on the bottom.... you remove the tape and stick it on a surface where you want the gps... then when you want to mount the gps you suction cup it to that disk. now for the suction cup... when it is disengaged the plastic suction cup will be loose. to attach it to the plate or window... you swing the small arm on the base of it up or down... you will see as it will lock the suction... the gps should clip onto the holder so you can leave the holder where it is and remove the gps and slip it into your pocket.

Not the best instructions but you will get the idea

Robert

Need a new mount. Old suction cup is worn-out

If you have a cd player in your dash, there are excellent gps mounts on eBay that work great. Been using one for years. It slides into where the cd goes. Does not stop you from playing cds. Easily removed when not in use

Everytime i put it on my dash it on the dash it comes loose and falls off my dash . no matter how carfully we mount it

Try using a friction mount. Its basically a bean bag mount with rubber grips on the bottom to prevent it from sliding on the dash. Much easier to remove than a window mount. Try looking on eBay for "friction mount" and also typing in the model of your GPS.

Hmmm...

If you are asking how to remove the mount from the GPS, I believe on the Tom Tom Go 910, it slides off. You should be able to hold the mount and slide the unit up off the mount, if I remember correctly.
