SOURCE: Carbon Brushes wearing out quickly on Kirby Heritage II

4 possible reasons.
1 – one or both bearings are worn so armature (rotating part) wobbles as it is spinning and cause motor brushes to wear fast. Solution – change bearings too.
2 – Whoever replaced brushes – did not use some brush seating sticks to make cmutator smother and contour brushes to the shape of the comutator (not likely). Solution – appropriately install new set of brushes.
3 – Comutator is so warped that seating sticks do not help anymore – solution – new armature or turn the old armature.
4 – The fact that ONLY ONE brush was worn may mean that there is something wrong with the brush or housing. Maybe it could not move freely within the housing? I think this may be most likely cause it it may be a combination of all 4.Is it worth to fix? Hmm depends how much will it be. If this is 100+ - I’d say get newer Kirby for 300 ad enjoy the tech drive (Heritage does not have tech drive so it is much harder to vacuum with than the newer models)

SOURCE: HOw to change the Belt on a Vax VX1 Model

There is a brush reset button on the handle. Check to see if this has been pushed in. Also check to see that the brush slider has also been switched on. Usually belts are protected on this model but you should be able to remove the bottom sole plate where the base of the vacuum is (and beater bar). If the belt cover can't be removed then it has to be repaired professionally.

SOURCE: Suction/Brush not working

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here.
There are a couple of common reasons that your electrolux vacuum cleaner would appear to have lost it's suction. The first and most common is that it has actually broken a belt. If the belt is broken the brushes won't spin and it will not pick up dirt. It is easy to test simply turn the vacuum on, release the handle (as if you were about to vacuum carpet) and lift up the head and see if the brushes are spinning. If not i can supply you with a new belt.
If the brushes are spinning then your next most likely cause is that there is a blockage in the vacuum somewhere. Test this by turning machine on and checking the suction at the hose (as if your were going to vacuum the couch) if it is poor then remove hose and fish out blockage. If it is ok you may have a blockage between hose and the brush of the vacuum.
If it is neither of these problems i can trouble shoot over the phone if you live in Australia 0269215200 or by email [email protected]
Happy Vacuuming.. :)

We have a Nilfisk One Performance Basic Aus/NZ Vacuum cleaner serial number 185100482 that starts loosing power and then stops. after about 15 minutes you can start it again.

Would guess it is either worn motor brushes or overheating or both. When the brushes are worn, they glaze and get hot and then lose contact.

They are a great make and well worth getting repaired and serviced. I had one of the first ones in the UK mid 1970s I think.

Nilfisk Elite Comfort vacuum cleaner. How to change rear wheels on it please? I have original replacement parts but fail to remove old wheels.

It appears for have hidden spindles holding the wheels so would involve full disassembly. No one has documented this before

https://www.nilfisk.com/global/consumer/products/vacuum-cleaners/traditional/elite-energy-comfort-eu/c_107413385/

By the looks of it, you start with the 2 screws in the bag access bay and then keep going. This is a job that should be done by a service centre.

The Parts Diagram shows all the relative parts and the wheels are held internally by one screw. Blow the PDF image up to 250%.

No suction

If you have got little or no suction in your Gm90 then almost always the problem is going to be in the filters.
The main Cotton Filter is part number 61588200 it is the likely culprit if you have had a burst bag or something similar.

Nilfisk vacume bearings

Hi There, If you could provide the model number of the machine that would help. However as a general rule if it is the motor bearings you are after then normally you replace the entire motor. If it is the roller brush you are needing bearings for you can get them from any bearing supplies store. If you are looking for any nilfisk parts in Australia then vacuumspot is the go.

How do I change the belt on a dirt devil ultra vision vacuum cleaner

I just changed mine and I will be blunt. First off, the design is **** on this vacume, secondly the belt was designed to break on the rusty carbon steel pully rod. Ok now that I've vented we will get down to business. On the bottom of the vacume you will find a plastic housing thats covering the brush. It will have 4 screws around the brush plus one above them. The housing itself is shaped like an L. Remove all the screws and expose the bare brush. This was not my case but there should be a belt holding the brush to a small steel pully rod in the top part of the L indention. If not then just locate an indention on the brush where the belt will be placed and look directly beneath that to find the pully rod (probably about 6 inches beneath the indention on the brush). wrap your new belt around the metal pully rod and then take out the brush. Wrap the other end of the belt around the indention on the brush and pull up hard and replace the brush in its vacume housing. This will take some effort as the belt has to be stretched. When finished replace the housing cover with the five screws and boom you're done.
