Did you try using the buttons on the TV itself?

SOURCE: subtitles disappear below bottom of screen

Check to see, what format the television set that widescreen etc. this may be all that's wrong with your set. If the problem persists the vertical height needs to be adjusted.  Most likely through the service menu, if units under warranty you can call Akai.  For further structures.

SOURCE: vizio flat screen tv

I have run into this before with many vizios. Your problem most likely is with the power supply. You can just try to unplug the TV and plug it back it. This most likely wont do anything but it is always worth the college try. Leave it unplugged for about 15 sec. If nothing works i recomend looking into the return policy from the place you bought it from. If you didnt purchase an extended warranty then you have a year from the manufacturer and that warranty will cover a problem like this. I do suggest taking your tv to a licensed technician with a problem with this. I dont recomend doing exploratory surgery on this TV. One question for you. Is this a plasma or lcd tv and does it make any clicking or tapping noises?

SOURCE: cant get the subtitles of the screen been pressing

Are you sure they are subtitles rather than closed captioning (if it is TV rather than DVD, it is closed captioning)?

If it is closed caption, pressing subtitle won't turn them off. If there is a button that says "Closed Caption" or "CC" press it. If not, press menu and look for the CC option (it should be under video or audio depending on the TV). Turn it off.

If you are watching a foreign language movie on TV (not DVD) it is likely hardsubbed (you can't turn the subs off because they are burned into the video).

Testimonial: "thanks m8 but my tv is linked through a reeview box and cant get subs of."

I have a 32 inch Upstar LED TV. How do I turn off closed captioning?

On the remote there is a button for Subtitles. Press that button and the Subtitles will disappear. If it is not on the remote then you have to find it in the TV's settings. 'Closed captions' are old words. We now call these 'Subtitles' and all TV's with remotes have a 'Subtitle' button. Look for it, then press while pointing the remote to the TV.

Dont have a remote and can't hide the subtitles

Ms. Padilla, you need to enter the menu settings in your television, should be a menu button on you tv set. Once in menu go to picture or scroll through the menus untill you find caption, once you locate that you can turn the subtitles off.

Subtitles don't fit on screen

Look for the "ratio" button on the original LG remote that came with the TV, and press it as many times as it takes to get your picture format correct for you to see the full subtitles.
Good Luck !

Screen too big for mitsubishi black diamond tv

It was actually a problem with the satellite feed, not the TV. Dish Network was zoomed in, hitting the asterisk button on the dish remote fixed the problem.

Do you mean the closed captioning or is it the subtitles when viewing a DVD. If it is the DVD then the subtitles need to be turned off on the DVD player. If it is the closed caption and you have a HD Comcast or other type of cable box, then the CC needs to be turned off on that device.
