Moreover, acording to newly hoilsted FixYa site, I'm not allowed to send any PDF files to customers. If customer want to get it, he have to purchase one amoung my advertised service on FixYa.

SOURCE: Hi I have a Philips 42PF7520D/10 which also fails

Use a WD 40 to be sprayed on the screws so as to lighten it and then try with the correct head and length. Now coming to the fault , this is a fault solution which can be checked and corrected by you assuming that there is no component failure. There is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance. The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on, if there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, and use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points. Sometimes the fault occurs when the set warms up; if so you can simulate the heat using a hair dryer on the suspected areas, try with the power supply, distribution, Processor controller, driver controllers on the A/V related sections. Also the use a FREEZE-IT spray can simulate the components to cool and show up the fault. It can also be related to WEAK ELECTROLYTIC capacitors as the value can reduce in time.

New Alpine radio, went through setup, plays fine on radio/tuner on all four speakers, but ipod (USB port) or internal CD only plays on front speakers.

Just a thought - the usb provides a digital signal which carries information about how the signal is to be processed; mono, stereo, surround sound stereo, etc.
If the mp3 music file was only recorded in 2 speaker stereo perhaps that is how it plays back.

Admittedly the radio signal is stereo and yet it plays on four speakers but unless it is a DAB radio it is analogue and maybe that makes a difference.

Perhaps there is an internal electronic fault with the digital processing part of the unit. I suggest reading the handbook again and then perhaps contacting the seller.

How to repair a broken lower door hinge?

You may need to remove the microwave off the wall but lets try this first. Unplug the micro and then remove the screws around the bottom cover plate. The cover should drop down--watch the wiring to the light system mounted to the cover. Now look at the bottom hinge area. Can yo see and access the screws to the hinge??? Should be 2 or 3 screws. If you can get to them then you can change the hinge there. Tape the door in place so it doesn't drop while doing the repair. If you can't see the screws, you may need to pull the micro off the wall and remove the outer case to do the repair. In some rare cases the hinges are welded to the case and not replaceable.

Open laptop to change cooling fan

Ok, on a laptop you need to get some cups and label them toput the screws in so you will know where they came from. Remove the PowerCord, Remove the Battery then start removing all thescrews from the bottom of the laptop. Then remove all the devices fromthe bottom of the laptop such as the hard drive, the memory, dvd/cd drive, wireless card, etc. Take note of how the wires are on the wireless card, those are the antennas.

Look inside the battery case, hard drive case, memory case and dvd drive slotfor screw. Some screws on the bottom case in inside of some of the devicecases might have the icon of a keyboard next to it. Those screws hold thekeyboard in place.

Turn the laptop over, remove the strip that is just above the keyboard but becareful because a cable might be attached to it. Then remove the screwsthat hold the keyboard in place that are under where the strip was and gentlylift the keyboard out because there is definitely a cable under it.

Next you can remove the screws from the lcd hinges at the corners and lift thelcd screen off, also note that you will have to pull the antennas cable and thelcd cable when you remove the lcd.

Next start removing any screws that hold the palmrest in place. Take note ofany cables that are attached to the palmrest and remove them then lift thepalmrest off.

Next start removing any screws you see that hold the motherboard to the bottomcase, then lift the motherboard out an start replacing the fan.

A digital camera to take pictures will be most helpful to refresh you memory ofwhere things were.

A have a cd stuck in my dodge durango how can i get it out?

You'll need to remove the stereo from the vehicle. Now remove the screws along the top of the unit and remove the top - some units have the sides and top as 1 piece. reconnect the poer to the stereo and push the eject. Sometimes the case on the stereo jams the cd up and removing the case is the only way to get it out - I've even had to manually turn the gearing to eject the cd. Next I would replace the stereo - once they start jamming up, they usually don't stop. However, you can try re - inserting another cd with the unit out after re - installing the case to see if it will co -operate with you.
Good luck!!

How to open my MicroSolutions External DVD drives' case, I am interested in using the case for a new internal drive. Thanks!

I can't give you exact information, only generic.

The case comes apart in two halves. A top half, and a bottom half. This is evidenced by the parting line in the middle.
There are screws which should hold the two case halves together.

Generally they are hidden underneath labels. The label, or thin blue plastic cover is peeled back to expose the screw heads.
Screws may have a Philips head, or a Torx head. (Internal star shape)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx

After removing the screws it may take an additional force, to 'pop' the two case halves apart.

The fan of my celsius H230 cracked down. now i want to replace it but somehow i dont figure how to remove the stupid case? can anyone help me?

Its alittle tricky. Have you ever removed laptop cases before?

If you have not I dont recomend it unless you are confident to follow instructions and do not loose any part that you remove from the laptop

If you are confident in following instructions and do not loose parts while disassembling the unit proceed to #1

1) Remove all screw with a perscision screw driver (a very small philips head screw driver) from the bottom of the case.

2) Remove the ram door and all other doors from the bottom of the unit

3) LOOK CAREFULLY to see if removing the bottom exposes the fan.

4) if not go to the front of the unit and remove the keyboard CAREFULLY

5) the keyboard ususally is screwed down so try lifting pannels carefully to see if they come loose.

At this point you MUST BE VERY CAREFULL to open this case. ANY BRUTAL FORCE TO OPEN THE CASE CAN CRACK THE CASE.

6) once you remove the keyboard, you should see the fan.

7) the fan is usually plugged into the motherboard, disconnect the fan and unscrew it out of the motherboard.

Hopefully you have the new fan on you

8) replace the fan with your new one and after you replug it into where the old one was, put eveything back to gether again VERY VERY CAREFULL making sure you put back every part and screw to where they were originaly are

After everything is completed, test the new fan by turning the unit.

Your new fan should work well. If it does not, either the motherboard needs replacing or your new fan is defective

Hope this helps

How to remove the CD rom drive in a HP Pavalon slimline client?

See the panel on the side of the DVD Drive? remove that by lifting it backwards, it has a black button on top of it, remove it and now you have access to the screws on the side of the DVD drive, after unscrewing there's a button on the opposite side, push it sideways to unlock the drive and push the DVD drive out of the casing. Hope you figure it out.
