Pictures no longer on camera, can I retrive the pictures back to camera
You should be able to. Use your photo-processing software, bring up each image, choose "save as" and save them back on the chip as the destination. There's no particular reason to do this, however, as the photos will not improve in resolution beyond their state on the computer. It's easier just to back them up on a USB drive or external hard drive if you just want "insurance" copies.

You need a cable, wich means that you have it already in your box, or you can buy it from any electronic store for less than $10. when you buy the cable plug it in the computer than the other side of the cable to the camera. And install the CD that came with your camera so your computer could recognize it, After you finish those steps you can upload it easely. Hope this Helped you.

Set the camera to MTP instead of PTP in the settings menu on the camera. This will allow it to operate as a USB device instead of only interacting with the Nikon software.
Specifically...
Hit menu on the camera, go to the setup menu, and select USB and then make sure it's
set to "Mass Storage" and not "PTP". Then connect the camera.
Hope this helps.

Many software programs will undelete a file deleted by accident but if you've used your computer and loaded other files onto the hard drive then it's possible you could have overwritten the spot the photos were in. An undelete command is built into windows but make sure you know exactly which folder or directory the photos were in prior to attempting an undelete. If you haven't used your camera since offloading them it's possible to run an undelete program on the memory card in the camera. If you've reused that memory card it's a good chance you've overwritten the old ones. Personally I've had little luck with the windows undelete but there are literally dozens of programs available to do the job. Do a search and find one. You could be lucky enough to land a freebie. or maybe one with a weeks trial. Simply enter "I deleted a photo by mistake" You'll be swamped with instructions on what to do. I can't do it myself as I don't know what OS you run etc.

Hello
My
apologies if this message finds you long after posting this problem ,
but I am currently working through a backlog of problems that never got
answered and hopefully this info can still be of use if not now possibly
in future.
Please download Disc Digger HERE.
This is a free tool you can use that works very well and there is no
installation required, just run the program once you downloaded it.
Once
you have connected the memory card to the computer via either the
camera or preferably with a usb card reader , run the program.
On
the program , select the dig deep option for accidentaly deleted files
or dig deeper for a formatted card. Then select the card you want to do
the recovery on and run the program.
The data will be displayed
and you can recover it from there. This will only work if the card has
not been used since the pictures were lost. Save the files to a location
on the computer hard drive and not back to the memory card as this will
overwrite the other pictures that still needs to be recovered.
Some of the properties of the files may become lost in the recovery but the pictures should be fine.
Feel free to ask if you need more assistance.
Kind Regards
Andrea
