Re: Infected by virus

I hope you backup your date regularly.
I hope that the virus did not get into your hidden partition which holds the system recovery information.
You might want to virus scan the hidden partition (go to folder options, view tab, and uncheck ‘hide file extensions’) and then scan the hidden partitio
When you ‘formatted’ did you run eRecovery Management and restore to factory settings?
Do not rate me yet, I am asking probing questions to better understand the situation (remember I am not there with you thus, I don’t know unless you tell me).

All ways restating before come the log in screen

your system is in protection mode. so it keeps on restarting. Maybe your stuff is infected with virus. scanning for virus is not a solution in itself. however if you remove your HDD and attached to other pc then scan for virus is feasible however it is dangerous to infest those another pc.

if not then you have to boot your system in safemode and back-up your files. reformat and reinstall new operating system.

Possible corrupt operating system. The cause of corrupt operating system is Windows file corrupted or virus infected Windows.

Solution corrupt Windows files:
1. START - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Recovery Options - System Restore (restore to the date when the OS is still normal)
2. START - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Recovery Options - System Image Recovery (restore using a backup system that you created)

Solution files corrupted due to virus infected windows
Update anti-virus and virus scan (if the virus is detected, the primary action = repair, secondary action = quarantine). Then repair the operating system with System Restore or System Recovery Options.
If the operating system infected with virus (virus infected not long ago), the best solution is to use System Restore. Restore to a date when the windows are still normal.

When i turn on my laptop it ask for a password in blue and then there is a blinking curser and black screen it wont do anything after that unless i press f2 reapeatedly or f12 but i cant fix nothing on the...

There are two types of password:
1. BIOS password. To remove the BIOS password, the solution is, remove the BIOS battery. Location of the BIOS battery, the bottom of the laptop. So you have to unscrew the bottom of the laptop, find the BIOS battery and release approximately 7 seconds, then plug it back. Then, turn on the laptop, enter the BIOS by pressing F2, do the setting the date, time, etc.

2. Password Log on. When turning on the laptop, and log on, then we are asked to enter a password, but we never give password to log on. However, when we enter the password, always fails, it means the virus-infected operating system (operating system has been controlled by a virus). These cases often I meet, the Windows XP operating system is infected with the virus. The solution is to reinstall the operating system. Repair operating system, or breaking into password virus, I've tried, but always failed. So, the best solution is to reinstall the operating system.

If you are using Windows 7, you can fix with, insert the Windows operating system CD, then boot from the CD Room. Solutions you can do:

Boot from CD Room, select Next - select Repair your computer - Next - select System Image Recovery

2. Boot from CD Room - select Next - select Install now - check the "I accept the license terms" - Next - select Custom (advanced). Then, select the drive where you installed windows - Next. Wait for your operating system install process to complete. Then enter your user name, etc.

After entering the desktop, don't open drive C, D, E, F, because the drive is still infected with the virus. All you have to do is, connect your laptop to the Internet, download anti-virus. You can use free anti-virus (Avira or AVG), then anti-virus updates. After the update is complete, do a virus scan, drive C, D, E, F. If a virus is detected, Primary action = repair, Secondary action = delete.

After drive C, D, E, F clean from viruses, you can open the drive C, D, E, F. You don't have to worry about losing data, because Windows 7, will backup your data in a folder Windows.old. In Windows.old folder, there are three folders: Program files, Users, Windows. Data stored in My Documents, can be found in the Users folder.

If you have trouble, you can send an email.

hope it helps

I have aop n emachine Em250 series. I installed avast in safe mode and ran scan. 2000 plus infected files were detected. I deleted all these infected files. Now my laptop cannot start up. When I log in...

2000 files infected? You need too format and reinstall your operating system.
You can try Holding down the f 8 key while booting up.Then choose last known good configuration.

If you have your windows install cd you can do a repair by booting off the disk and choosing repair windows to replace files lost.

Whenever I connect any removable drive automatically 4 shortcuts got created of control panel.

You have a virus on your PC. Unfortunately, once you have this virus, it usually does not help updating your anti virus and running a scan since the virus is running in the memory of the PC and every infected file the anti virus removes - the virus just puts back again. Try one of two things to remove the virus:

1] First update your anti virus (if you dont have an anti virus, download the free AVG Antivirus and install that and then update it. Click here to go to AVG's website. Once installed - Boot your pc into SAFE MODE. This is VERY important otherwise the virus will load into memory and it wont help running the anti virus to clean the system as the memory resident virus will just replace any infected file that is removed by the scan. To boot your PC into safe mode: Read this article: Click here.

Once you are in safe mode - Open the Anti-virus console and do a complete system scan.

2] Remove the infected hard drive from your PC and install it as a secondary drive in a clean, VIRUS PROTECTED PC!!! ... i.e .. any pc that has the latest anti-virus system installed and is up to date!. Once you have installed the infected drive in the protected PC as a secondary drive, run a scan on the infected drive and remove the virus.

Once you have removed the virus, also scan ANY USB devices on that PC, including any Cameras, cellphones, photo frames, etc that you might have plugged into the infected PC.

Good luck

Please do the following steps. Restart the machine> press F8and select 'Start windows in safe mode'. After booting, login in to thesystem, Press start> control panel>user accounts> disable guest login, and please do put a password for administrator login if it is not there. Press Ctrl+Alt+del together and from the taskmanager select processes Select the processes which werehaving User name as 'Administrator' and taking memory resources more than 25000k. select those process and press 'End Process'. Same way try to end as manyprocesses as you can. This will manually release the memory for the processorand your OS will resume service for this particular session. Connect to the internet and Nowinstall antivirus software for free from below mentioned link: Download, update and then run acomplete scan of the machine. It will take around 3 to 4 hours depend upon theSystem Resources. This is a free antivirus tool and only requires free registrationon AVG site. They wont charge you for anything. Now go to Start> Run typemsconfig Hit enter Now select Startup menu, check 'disableall' Press 'apply' then' OK' Now make sure than your scan is completeand avg have either transferred all the infected files to Virus vault by quarantining them or by deleting the virus programs. Insert the operating system CDinside the CD ROM. Restart the system, keep pressing 'delete'or 'F2' button. Go to the BIOS setup, select boot priority menu. Select CD/DVD ROM as a first bootdevice and HDD as second. Press F10, save and exit, Systemwill restart and the it will ask to 'press any key to boot from CD/DVD, hitenter, Set up will continue. Your system is infected by trojan,

Scan your System with a good Anti-Virus like Kaspersky Internet security 2010 or A-Squared Anti-malware with lastest updates installed. Both can detect trojan as well as malware, spyware etc.

This will solve your problem.
